CLOSING RECEPTION

Welcoming our special guests from Japan! Members of the Ako Gabbeh team and the founder of Arts & Crafts Village have arrived in NY! 🇯🇵

Our studio was fully prepped, ready to kick off our very first Knotting Workshop in NYC.

Despite the fierce Nor’easter winds, so many passionate students joined us! Learning a technique different from regular handweaving brought so much excitement to the studio. Our instructor, Noriko demonstrated the Persian knotting technique as well—such a wonderful and satisfying class! Whether in the half-day or full-day session, mastering these fundamental knotting skills opens up endless possibilities for future creations—what you make next is entirely up to you!

Missed out due to the storm?
We’re hosting a Makeup Pop-Up Workshop on October 3rd with just a few extra seats available.

Don’t miss this final opportunity to join us! Send us a DM or email to reserve your spot! 📩

What if you could learn a traditional craft technique and create, with your own hands, a chair rug to treasure in your home for a lifetime?

For the first time, we’re welcoming our longtime friends from Arts & Crafts Village in Okayama, Japan to Loop of the Loom to share the art of hand knotting.

In the hands-on full-day workshop, you’ll learn the Turkish knotting technique and try your hand at creating your own chair rug. In the half-day workshop, you’ll make a mini sampler and experience the technique on a smaller scale.

No machine required. All you need are your hands, yarn, and time.

September 26 & 27
Choose the date and studio that work best for you: UES or DUMBO.

To keep creating after the workshop, frame looms and knotting kits will also be available for purchase.

Golden hour light on Plymouth Street, happy faces, and pure earth colors.

Our outdoor Earth Color Eco-Dyeing Workshop in Dumbo was an absolute dream! As the sun dipped over Brooklyn, kids plunged straight in with joyful energy while adults thoughtfully layered natural pigments, creating one-of-a-kind textile art with their used garments and white materials.
The real magic of Bengala dye and Shibori is that moment of truth—unwrapping your piece to reveal a design you could never have predicted. Pure magic!
Thank you for joining us, everyone! While our Bengala workshops for this year have officially wrapped up this weekend, the creative journey never stops.
Mindful crafting is always better together at Loop of the Loom. We are already preparing exciting next workshops. Stay tuned, or visit the link in our bio to see what’s coming next!
