Kickstarted our Madhubani art workshop series today
Conducted the first workshop at Bombay International School

Learners traced the history of this vibrant folk art from Mithila dating back to the Ramayana period, hearing the stories and significance of Madhubani motifs with the authentic artisan Shri Nandkishore Jha from Bihar

Retained the traditional techniques but reimagined the art form as per the season with monsoon inspired motifs for this series 🐸🪷🐟☔️⛵️

Watch this space as we take this art form to various spaces this week 💚

GI-tagged, globally admired, quietly dying.
Every Gollabhama saree carries the same figure of a milkmaid, pot on her head woven thread by thread the way it’s been done for generations.

On this we’re thinking about all the hands that keep a motif alive long after the reason for it fades from memory.

We are glad we could introduce this beautiful lesser-known craft to handmade lovers in Mumbai as part of KALAANGAN 2026✨
