Ah! This feels unreal!

My Goddess painting debuts inside the Varaprada Venkateswara temple. The inaugration of the exhibition done by none other than Padma Subramanyam. She has been awarded a Padma Sri, a Padma Bhushan and a Padma Vibhushan.

And for my debut painting I got to make Saraswati (learning). This is a long way since I copied a Saraswati and gifted it to my dad on his 80th birthday. 9 years later here I am.

Indebted. To my Guru and my teacher .ganesh .

My family and my art class friends (who helped/ hosted me this past week drove me around ,laughed with me and painted together). My cousin here cheering for me on opening day!

Overwhelmed with gratitude. This has truly been a humbling experience.

Day 3 of 5 is done!
This is what I have achieved afte 26 hours of painting.

Goddess Saraswati is slowly emerging in her full glory. My teacher reminded me gently (when I was stressing) that the canvas was blank and this was drawn by me from scratch!

The lotus shading consumed pretty much all of yesterday. I am estimating that the lotus alone has 10000 lines. Jayasri helped me learn how to achieve the gradient effect which is the hallmark of the Kerala Mural Style.

2 more days of painting and this gets framed for the exhibition.
