🍂 A LITTLE GRAPEVINE, A LITTLE CREATIVITY & A WHOLE LOT OF AUTUMN CHARM! 🍁🌾

Join me on Saturday, November 7th, at the beautiful Old Austerlitz Barn during Holiday House for a hands-on Harvest Wreath-Making Workshop!

We’ll start from scratch, weaving our own rustic wreath bases using natural grapevines harvested from our flower farm. Then, we’ll bring them to life with an assortment of beautiful farm-grown, naturally dried florals, ornamental grasses, seed pods, lavender, yarrow, hydrangeas and more!

You’ll learn how to create a gorgeous, asymmetrical design that highlights the natural beauty of the grapevines. Each wreath will be as unique as the person creating it! 🌿

No experience needed! Just bring your creativity, and I’ll bring everything else!

🍁 Saturday, November 7 | 11 AM–1 PM

📍 Old Austerlitz Barn | Holiday House

🌾 $40 per person — all materials included!

WHAT A GIFT I’ve received! ❤️🌸

Let me start by saying that one of the most beautiful things about this flower-growing community is the people behind the blooms.

As a licensed seller of Kristine Albrecht - Dahlias (the amazing KA dahlias!) I’ve had the privilege of growing, sharing, and selling her extraordinary varieties. (I gush about them ALL the time!) But what makes this gift so special goes far beyond the flowers themselves.

Yesterday (on my BIRTHDAY which was a total coincidence!) and today, I received a large box filled with beautiful KA dahlia tubers, personally sent by Kristine from her own farm stash! Over 20 lbs of pure tuber joy!

Losing her varieties in particular was an overwhelming loss, not only financially, but emotionally. I had spent the past four years investing in and carefully building my collection of KA dahlias. Each variety represented years of growing, learning, and looking forward to what I could share with our customers.

And then, in one devastating storm, so much of that was gone.

But these boxes represent so much more than replacement tubers. They represent generosity, compassion, encouragement, and perhaps most importantly, a woman who stands behind the smallest of farms! She’s given me a HUGE jumpstart on rebuilding a collection dear to me and for that I’m a big puddle today!

Kristine, THANK YOU for going out of your way to help our little farm get back on its feet. Your kindness and generosity have left me absolutely speechless (which, as many of you know, doesn’t happen often! 😉).

I cannot wait to get these beauties growing in 2027!

From the bottom of my heart, thank you, Kristine! AND thank you to all who have helped, donated and are helping us rebuild! I hope you all know how forever indebted I feel. ❤️🌸

Of course my birthday would happen to fall on a Monday this year! 😂😅

Age is just a number that keeps getting bigger without my permission… like….. 47! (Yikes!)

But- I’ve learned that the older I get, the less I care about having everything figured out. There’s something incredibly satisfying about knowing who you are, embracing your quirks, and realizing that not everything (or everyone!) deserves your energy.

I’m grateful for the people who have supported me along the way, especially my husband, who has been right there through the adventures, questionable decisions, trials, failures, and all those moments that eventually turn into great stories. Because really, it’s those experiences, the laughter, and all the little moments that make this crazy life worth celebrating.

Here’s to more adventures, spontaneous decisions, belly laughs, making memories, and doing things simply because they make me happy. ❤️

Another year older, slightly more opinionated, and still a work in progress. But the limited-edition kind. 😉🥂

P.S. I can’t wait to show you all the fun I have planned for our Halloween Barn Party this weekend! Hopefully in Sunday’s video! It’s one of my favorite opportunities to let my creativity run a little wild! 🎃👻

Autumn in New York is exactly what I see in this bucket of strawflowers! Just whoa!

I am thrilled to have grown these this year and they are surprisingly frost tolerant. This was today’s harvest after a light frost Tuesday night!

Fall at the farm is soooooo pretty! I’m so happy to have had a late flush of these summer beauties. Tonight and tomorrow night temps are in the mid 30’s… this could very well be it for them as they are sensitive to cold but wow, what a show!

🍂 The Grapevine Witch’s Hat Workshop is officially in the books!

A huge thank-you to everyone who came out and created with us today—even if you didn’t make it into the photos! 🤎

It was so much fun watching everyone start with the same materials and weave them into completely different, one-of-a-kind witch’s hats. This class was a little more challenging than some, starting with grapevines freshly pulled from our farm, but everyone jumped right in and conquered! Thanks for a great afternoon!

And we’re not done yet…

🥖 The Sourdough Workshop is tomorrow!
See you soon!

We made the COVER, whaaaaaat?!

Yep! Our family — and our big red barn — are on the October cover of The Hudson Connection magazine! The Hudson Connection is a local community based magazine that features local families and curated local content.

When we started Guiding Green Thumbs, the drive was never just about growing flowers. It was about sharing my love of flowers, finding new plants, learning, sharing real life laughs and of course growing with organic methods.

So seeing the words “Cultivating Community” across this cover feels especially meaningful.

We can clean up pretty well when someone tells us there’s a camera coming too! Don’t ya think? 😉

A huge thank you to The Hudson Connection for sharing our story, to Photo-Art by Ken Bovat for the amazing photo shoot and to every single person who has visited the farmstand, taken a workshop, bought a bouquet, picked flowers, supported us through the hard seasons, or simply cheered us on.

You are the community we’re cultivating. 🌱

Now excuse me while I casually leave approximately 47 copies of this magazine in strategic locations around my house! 😂

For those of you that aren’t local and wish to read, the online version up shortly! I’ll let you know when and link it so you can access from my website!
