I started my Rhinebeck sweater 3 days ago. This is The Alford Sweater, a pattern I will release in Winter.

Last evening I separated body and sleeves and just started working on the cables on the side of the sweater.

The yarn is from Rosarios_4 from from the yarn store Pick up every stitch in Mount Kisco, NY.

The Snowfall baby blanket KAL was the first KAL I ever hosted.

This blanket was designed out of a moment where I needed to feel like knitting again, with meaning, with purpose, with hope in mind, thinking of a piece that will become special to an expecting family.

This sample was the only piece I worked on during vacation in Colombia. The piece that I had in my hands when I finally saw my family again, when we went to the beaches that have always been special to me, and a piece that I finished as I was on the phone for long periods of time as I could see how family and friends were doing during and after the earthquake.

The piece I had on my hands as tears were shed after learning of family and friends helping in rescue missions, relocating affected families, helping each other, and when heard that our donations were arriving.

Emotions were high as we heard of deaths and ones being rescued alive. The pain of the families left behind… too much to endure, and how many are acting though their own pain to be able to help.

A piece that is certainly filled with many emotions…

This KAL comes to an end today… thank you to all that participated. It has been so sweet to have been sharing progress with you during these 8 weeks.

The work of our hands is a companion too that can bring us some relief, calm, or just a sense to keep busy with our hands as we are trying to process things in our lives.

To all the ones that are thinking about having The Snowfall baby blanket on your needles one day, I hope it brings you some of what you need at the moment you have it in your hands.
