A bit of sewing that I did last fall, and this past week...
The blouse (excuse my unpressed back pleat 😅) is Simplicity 8447, a 1940's reproduction pattern, which I sewed last fall in a super cute floral print cotton. I love the way that the vintage buttons pull the bits of blue from the mostly yellow and orange fabric.
I made the skirt this week, but I've been planning it since fall.
I used a late 1990's pattern, and it's just perfect for a 1940's style! The fabric is rayon challis, and I can't even begin to describe how wonderfully it flows and drapes as a skirt. It's also a great weight for summer, and the color is super versatile.
I added a side seam pocket, of course, as well as belt loops, for convenience.
