H. Myers Woodcraft & Carving Hello! I create works of art- bowls, spoons, etc- by hand, made from local, New England wood. Questions about what I do?

Just the final touches on another carpenter's mallet; featuring my maker's mark. The first picture is in progress, and second is complete. Luckily mu mechanical pencil's lead is thin enough to get into the tiny groove to help darken things.

Here's some of the newest pieces. Cherry coffee scoop (the one with the hole in the handle), a general purpose cherry scoop, and a cherry jam knife. As per usual, all finished with walnut oil, beeswax, and carnauba wax. It's interesting how all these items are cherry, but each has slightly different hue, texture, and even smell. I cannot get enough of the smell of the general purpose scoop.

To "spread" a little creativity, I am working on this butter knife-shaped utensil. A jam spreader! Ideal for jams and jellies- of course- but also your favorite peanut butter, hazelnut spread, or fancy butter.

Here's a bit of a snapshot into what I've been up to: a maple pipe, cherry and walnut spatulas, ladles, knife handles, even a cane/ walking stick. And I have plenty more ideas to come- stay tuned!
