Last weekend James and Emilie popped over so I could practice doing James' hair for their wedding which is a week today! We were all pleased with the results but I just hope I haven't peeked too soon 🤣
James will be having his hair cut whilst on honeymoon, which he will then donate to a charity in New Zealand.

So...I was pretty anxious about being away from home but Verona is so small and compact it was easy to rush back to the apartment when I needed to.

Verona is beautiful and has a lot to see and do. My one piece of advice is to save some money for shopping before you arrive!

Now for the journey home....

For anyone that knows me, they know I hate shopping! But who knew shopping could be so much fun!?!

So it was a very uneventful flight which was a big relief to me.

Now we are enjoying the warmth of the sunshine and mooching around Verona!

Sat at Gatwick after an uneventful 2.5hr car journey.

Still feeling anxious about the flight. The Abemaciclib gives me reliably, unpredictable problems with my GI tract so keeping my fingers crossed the flight will go smoothly 🤞🤞🤞

A lovely weekend with family. As it turned out we celebrated our youngest son getting a job this week so he is off to Sri Lanka on Friday and on Saturday, as we were leaving, I got a letter letting me know my first year mammogram and breast MRI were all clear!

With all this sunshine, we have put a gazebo up so I can sit out safely.

To be completely honest, I don't have much energy, partly due to the heat and part due to the Abemaciclib.

I started my second cycle last week and although the first 10 days were fine the diarrhoea then started which was zapping of any energy I did have.

I have completely taken out dairy from my diet which is the biggest trigger and have been on a very boring and bland diet but gradually adding more things to it.

My oncologist has said it may well settle so this is what I am planning on!

It is a year today I had my first surgery. Saturday was also our 34th wedding anniversary so we had family and friends round to celebrate this and the end of my active treatment. It was wonderful to thank everyone who had supported us throughout the last 14months.

Surgery was bigger than expected with a mammoplasty, free ni**le graft and sentinel node biopsy.

With a positive attitude and a good anaesthetic, I was on my way home an hour after returning to the ward.

Recovery was smooth and much easier than expected but the sentinel node was found to have cancer in so an axillary clearance was required at the end of July.
