I've been trying to find the words but there are no words, just ramblings and big feelings. Feeling so overwhelmed and heartbroken about the flooding and devastation out in the mountains in NC. I've been worried sick about friends while waiting to hear if they're ok. Desperately checking lists of "people who are safe" and feeling how surreal that is but also incredibly grateful for the internet for once and that people are posting those lists. So many people are hurting. And people might not realize that there is a huge artist community scattered through those mountains and a huge chunk of people I care about have been hit hard. The only thing that is easing some of these big feelings is that I know we are a community that loves one another and we will go to the ends of the earth to support our fellow potters and artists. And when it's time to replace and rebuild, I know there will be an outpouring. But right now, I can't begin to imagine how all the people affected are feeling. I know most don't have internet right now but if you do, we're all thinking of you and heartbroken and ready to help in any possible way. Sorry for the ramble, there's just so much to be said and I'm feeling so helpless from over here, watching so many I care about hurting.
