| Limpopo Premier Dr. Phophi Ramathuba has joined Kgoshi Kgabo Moloto III, community dignitaries and other prominent people including ZCC St Engenas leader Bishop Joseph Lekganyane today for the grand opening of the new Moletši Mall.

The celebration marks a historic milestone for the Polokwane Local Municipality, bringing a multi-million-rand retail development directly to the doorsteps of local residents.

The highly anticipated grand opening took place on Friday, 30 October 2026, drawing crowds of excited residents from across the 179 villages of Moletjie.

University Of Limpopo Condemn Student Stabbing Incident

| The University of Limpopo has condemned the alleged stabbing of a female intern attached to the institution.

A young male suspect appeared in the Mankweng Magistrate’s Court today on Wednesday, in connection with the incident.

According to the university, the alleged assault took place at a private residence in Ga-Makanye, Mankweng. The victim was admitted to hospital and is receiving medical treatment. She is reported to be in a critical but stable condition.

Mankweng Police Respond To Female Student Stabbing

| A female student, reportedly from the University of Limpopo, was allegedly stabbed on Tuesday evening in Ga-Makanye, outside Polokwane.

The circumstances surrounding the incident, including the motive and the victim’s condition have not yet been officially confirmed.

Suspects Caught Shoplifting Burn Store

| Fidelity ADT and SecureFire teams responded to a fire at a PEP store in Polokwane on Friday evening, October 23, 2026.

This after two shoplifting suspects being held in a storeroom allegedly started a blaze while waiting for the South African Police Service (SAPS) to arrive.

The incident which took place on Rissik Street in the Polokwane C*D, near KFC and PEP Store resulted with U Me Supermarket and surrounding buildings sustain extensive damage.

No injuries or fatalities were reported.

ST Engenas Interchange Handover

| The Limpopo Provincial Government, in partnership with the National Department of Transport, has taken a significant step towards the construction of the much-awaited St Engenas Zion Christian Church (ZCC) Interchange at Boyne on the R71, within the Polokwane Municipality, following the formal handover of the appointed contractor by Premier Dr Phophi Ramathuba and Minister of Department of Transport Ms Barbara Creecy.

Lekompo Artist Tsaka RSA Troubles Increasing Fast

| The State has added two further charges against Lekompo artist Paul Nkgodisheng Madubanya (Tsaka RSA) during his appearance in the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court.

The artist charged with the unlawful possession of a fi***rm and unlawful possession of am******on, now faces additional charges of failure to secure a fi***rm in a prescribed safe and statutory r**e.

Tsaka RSA remains in custody.

The matter has been postponed to 21 October 2026.
