☕🌿 A MORNING FULL OF LITTLE BLESSINGS IN SHELLEY POINT! 🦌💙

Imagine waking up, sitting on your balcony with your morning coffee, and having the most wonderful little family come to visit, just a few metres away on the neighbour’s roof!

A beautiful family of Egyptian geese. 🪿

About three months ago, Mom and Dad proudly introduced us to their little chicks. And now? Well, they’ve made it a morning tradition to come and visit!

It’s been absolutely magical watching these youngsters grow, with Mom and Dad teaching them to spread their wings and fly. What a privilege to have a front-row seat to their little family adventures!

And just as the whole family took off together this morning, I spotted the sweetest little bokkie nearby!

I mean, seriously! How much beauty can one morning hold?

Coffee, birds learning to fly, a little bokkie, and nature unfolding right on my doorstep.

An absolute blessing of a morning! 🙏💙

WOW! You’ve just GOT to love Shelley Point! Never-Adéle-Moment 😍

🌊 THE RAY & THE STARFISH ⭐

On Friday, while snorkelling in Simon’s Town, I experienced one of those unforgettable Never-Adéle-Moments.

About six metres below the surface, I encountered a magnificent ray, almost two metres wide, gliding so peacefully through the ocean.

And then I noticed something extraordinary.

A little starfish, attached to her snoot, just beneath one eye. A tiny hitchhiker on this beautiful, gentle giant.

I had been carrying quite a bit of emotional baggage after a challenging few weeks, topped off by a terribly frustrating booking.com accommodation experience that had disrupted our special Cape Town getaway.

But there, underwater, something shifted.

It was as if the ocean whispered:

“Not everything that attaches itself to you belongs with you.”

The frustrations. The disappointments. The things we cannot change.

Sometimes we simply need to let them go.

Let the tears come. Let them flow. Let the ocean carry away what weighs on our hearts.

And yes, I cried. Right there, underwater, alongside this magnificent creature.

I surfaced feeling a little lighter. 💙

And the funny thing? I didn’t have my camera with me!

Sometimes the ocean doesn’t give me a photograph. It gives me something I needed far more. 🌊

💙✨ MAMMA MIA! HERE I GO AGAIN! 💃🌊
Well, what does a DANCING QUEEN wear when she’s off to see MAMMA MIA at the Artscape in Cape Town?

Her very own Studio Sea Love DANCING QUEEN ensemble, of course! 👑💙

And OH MY GOODNESS, what an absolutely FANTASTIC show! The music, the energy, the laughter, the set, the ABBA magic! I was in my element! 🎶🪩

But I must confess… my DANCING QUEEN ensemble had a little moment of its own! 😉
LOTS of admiration, compliments and attention!💃And let’s not forget my gorgeous hubby Stef, who certainly brought his own bit of MAMMA MIA flair with those VERY funky black-and-white shoes! 🙌🏽

There is something rather wonderful about wearing your own creation, especially when the beautiful ocean you photographed while freediving on a single breath is now dancing along with you in the form of flowing fabric!

From MY KELP FOREST PRAYER ROOM beneath the waves of our beautiful West Coast to the bright lights of the Artscape theatre! 🌊💙✨ You can take the girl out of the ocean, but you certainly can’t take the ocean out of the girl! 🌊
This beautiful, feminine, flowing and limited edition DANCING QUEEN two-piece ensemble is available in a selection of my original Studio Sea Love wearable ocean artworks, each inspired by my own underwater photography!

Pop into my little Studio Sea Love at Paternoster Waterfront and discover which ocean artwork makes YOUR inner DANCING QUEEN come alive! 👑🌊

Thank you, MAMMA MIA, for an unforgettable evening!

🎶 You can dance, you can jive, having the time of your life!
And THIS Dancing Queen certainly did! 👑

🌊 HEAVEN WAS ALIVE TONIGHT 🌊

Just before sunset tonight, I slipped into the water at Heaven here in Shelley Point for a snorkel.

And goodness… exuberantly beautiful is the only way I can describe what was waiting beneath the surface.

Sometimes we stand on the shore and look across the ocean and see simply water. But put your face beneath that surface, slow down, really look… and an entire little world reveals itself.

Tonight I met many crabs, furiously burying themselves in the sand until it almost completely disappeared. One moment there, the next just a little puff of sand. Nature’s own disappearing act.

The rocks were absolutely bursting with anemones, kelp, mussels and tiny reef life. Every crack and crevice seemed occupied. An entire underwater neighbourhood quietly getting on with life while we humans carry on with ours above the surface.

And then… THAT FACE! 😂

A ROCKSUCKER (Chorisochismus dentex), a wonderfully quirky fish unique to southern Africa. With its broad head, enormous green eye and those fabulous lips, it looks like something dreamed up by a slightly mischievous Creator.

But this little creature is beautifully designed for its world. Beneath its body is a powerful suction disc, formed from modified fins, which allows it to cling tightly to the rocks while waves and currents surge around it.

And somehow I loved that most of all.

While everything around it moves, it is designed to hold on.

Perhaps there is a little life lesson hiding beneath the kelp there too. 💙

This is why I love snorkelling slowly. You stop looking for the big thing, and suddenly you begin seeing everything.

The colours.
The tiny creatures.
The faces peeping from rocks.
The extraordinary design.
The abundance of life.

Tonight, just before the sun disappeared, Heaven was alive.

And once again I climbed out of the water feeling incredibly grateful that, for a little while, I had been allowed to quietly visit their world.

My ocean. My prayer room. My beautiful West Coast. 🌊💙

🌸 LIFE AFTER FIRE 🌸

I have taken far too long to share this video from our visit to the Stanford Flower Exhibition, Life After Fire… but perhaps some experiences need a little time to settle in your soul.

I stood there completely overwhelmed by the beauty of it all.

And I got it.

Because I see and feel something so similar in my beloved ocean after a big storm. The water is churned up, everything is tossed around, the landscape beneath the surface shifts… and then comes this extraordinary rejuvenation. New life. Abundance. Beauty emerging from the disturbance.

Life after fire.
Life after storms.
Life finding its way back.

Standing amongst this magnificent celebration of our indigenous flowers made me incredibly emotional, but also so deeply proud.

This is our beautiful garden of South Africa. 🇿🇦
Our extraordinary natural heritage, gathered and displayed with such creativity and love, and shared with the world in all its wild beauty.

What an incredible reminder that nature knows how to begin again.

A huge shout-out to every single person behind Life After Fire. What you created was so much more than a flower exhibition. It was an experience. 🌸

And to my Stef… thank you for taking me to see it. You knew I needed to stand amongst those flowers. ❤️

From fire to flowers.
From storms to abundance.

Nature keeps reminding us: life returns. 🌊🌸
