🌸 WOMEN IN BLOOM 🌸

This Women’s Month, we’re creating a space for women and girls to grow stronger, feel safer, connect with one another and simply take time to breathe.

Join us for a morning rooted in confidence, connection and resilience, bringing together practical self-defense, women’s wellness and hands-on gardening.

🥋 09:00–09:50 | SELF-DEFENCE WORKSHOP
A practical session with DKI Dojo Duanne Christopher Hardy and Strikeback Academy focused on awareness, boundaries, confidence and simple principles to help you recognise, avoid and safely navigate difficult situations.

🤍 10:00–10:20 | WOMEN’S WELLNESS
A short space to pause, reconnect and focus on your own wellbeing with Crossroads Mediation Solutions.

🌱 10:30–11:30 | GARDEN WORKSHOP
Get your hands in the soil with Damian Williams from earthboundeco and learn, plant and grow together, connecting personal wellbeing with the natural world and our community.

This is more than a morning of workshops. It’s a reminder that strength can be learned, healing can be shared, and growth happens when we create space for one another.

📅 Saturday, 29 August 2026
⏰ 09:00–11:30
📍 St Peter’s Church, South End MBDA
🌿 Donation-based

What to bring:
👒 Comfortable clothing and shoes

🌍 Plastic-Free July | Think Beyond Plastic; Go Paperless 📄♻️

This Plastic-Free July, let’s take simple steps that make a lasting impact. Think before you print, reduce waste, and embrace sustainable habits that help protect our environment.

Every reusable bottle, paperless meeting, cloth shopping bag and local purchase contributes to a cleaner, greener and more sustainable Nelson Mandela Bay. Together, we can reduce plastic pollution and build a healthier future for generations to come.

🌱 Sustainability is a lifestyle and every small action counts.

🌱 Grow food and help feed our people
🤝 Meet neighbours and build community
📚 Share practical skills and knowledge
🌿 Learn how to grow with nature
💚 Create something together that can keep giving

📅 Saturday, 8 August 2026
⏰ 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM
📍 St Peter’s Church, South End
🎟️ DONATION BASED

Everyone is welcome. Bring your children, your friends, your neighbours, your culture, your stories and your willingness to get involved. 🌈

🌿 WHAT TO BRING:

👒 A hat
🤝 A friend (or three!)
🥪 Picnic food to share
💧 Your own water
🌱 Extra seeds or plants if you have some to contribute
🧤 Gloves or gardening tools if you have them

Seeds, plants and shared tools will be available for the workshop.

Why your presence matters:
A thriving community doesn’t happen because someone else builds it for us. It happens when we show up for one another.

This is Ubuntu — I am because we are🌱

14/07/2026

This garden belongs to all of us. 🌱

Back in 2025, we started clearing this land at Rainbow Village with Damian Williams from earthboundeco, reading the landscape, building passive irrigation, and choosing plant partners that grow better together.

Today, it’s a place to learn, connect, and grow skills.

This year, we’re expanding into the valleys, building safe community spaces and gardens that can feed our people.

But that only happens if the community grows it with us.

This is your garden too and it needs your hands. 💚

Come dig in, learn something, be part of the adventure.

📆Our next event is scheduled for August 8th. We’ll be dropping all the details soon!
