As a small business who makes things by hand, I know the worth of the hours I pour in, and I refuse to cheapen my hard work by using a tool that harms more than it helps just to shave off a few hours of work
The above post was made in less than half an hour in Canva with a template. There is no excuse to default to generative AI to make an ugly poster that looks like every other AI poster
I started making candles because I couldn't find whimsical, environmentally conscious products that brought me joy to buy. Why would I put my lil mushies or anything else I make through an AI meat grinder for it to spit out a post that strips my product of all it's magic?
If you take anything from this, let it be that generative AI is destructive and shouldn't be the norm, especially in predominantly creative spaces
