Chapter 3: Back to the Patio 🌿

The Muses have returned to the patio.

Amara took one look around, tilted her head and decided something was missing.

Hydrangeas.

Apparently exactly 13 more. 💙

CHAPTER 3 — THE MUSES REMEMBER THEY HAVEN’T FINISHED THE PATIO

Apparently, opening a gallery in the middle of a patio makeover is perfectly reasonable behaviour when you are a Muse.

But the paint is still out, the pots are waiting, the lanterns need finishing and there are several suspiciously unfinished projects scattered around Serenity Courtyard.

So, after their little artistic detour, the Muses are heading back outside.

This time, we’re not planning. We’re making.

And remember the rule: no buying the décor. If we want it, we make it.

Welcome back to the patio. 🌿

Today the muses received a little piece of magic in their inbox. 💌

A client sent us a picture of her beautiful project made with one of our drums and our non-tear decoupage.

The muses immediately gathered around the phone.

There was admiration. There was discussion.

And then, inevitably:

“WE NEED TO MAKE ONE.”

Chapter 2: The Gallery

What. A. Day.

The paintings are up, the boxes are down, and everyone is currently lying on the floor questioning several life choices.

But we are IN. 🌿🎨

There is just one small problem.

Apparently, the gallery has walls.

Quite a lot of them, actually.

And according to the muses, those empty walls are “simply unacceptable.”

The muses are resting now.

Letitia, meanwhile, has been handed a paintbrush.

How convenient. 😏

The Muses Are Moving In — Chapter 1: The Furniture Has Arrived

Elodie: “Finally. Somewhere to put the flowers.”
Amara: “They are TABLES, Elodie. For PEOPLE.”
Zuri: “Can we paint them?”
Ameera: silently moves her chai out of Zuri's reach. 😂

THE MUSES ARE MOVING IN… ☕🎨

Day 2: The muses have officially run out of muse.

There are boxes everywhere.
The coffee is disappearing at an alarming rate.
And nobody remembers who was supposed to unpack the paintbrushes.

Today’s creative direction:
Sit down. Drink coffee. Look busy.

Moving in is clearly harder than it looked on Pinterest. 😴🌿

# # The Muses Are Moving In

# # # Chapter 1: The Patio Makeover — Ameera’s Vintage Pot

The patio makeover has officially begun, and naturally the Muses have decided that **nothing old is allowed to remain merely old.** It must become *beautifully old*. There is apparently a difference. 😌

# # # How Ameera did it

**1. Give it little feet**
Turn the pot upside down and glue **three little half wooden beads** evenly around the base. Suddenly our humble plastic pot has legs — and considerably more dignity.

**2. The first coat — duck-egg blue**
Paint the entire pot, including the little wooden feet, in a soft **duck-egg blue**. This becomes the colour that will eventually peek through the distressed finish.

**3. Add the off-white layer**
Once dry, paint over the blue with a warm **off-white/cream**.
Don't make it too perfect. Ameera certainly didn't. Vintage things are allowed to have character.

**4. Distress it**
Once the cream layer is dry, lightly sand the pot, concentrating on the rim, raised edges and random areas across the surface.
The duck-egg blue begins to appear underneath, creating that gorgeous worn, layered finish.

**5. Add the vintage detail**
Ameera finished the pot with a beautiful French-style **rub-on transfer from Belle Maison**.
And there she is.

And judging by the discussions already happening on the patio, Ameera's pot may be the least dramatic part of this makeover. 😂

THE MUSES ARE MOVING IN… 🌿
Chapter One: The Patio Make-Over

And so the drama begins. 😂
The muses have seen the patio.
🌸 Elodie: “It needs flowers. Lots of flowers.”
🌿 Amara: “We are NOT creating a jungle at the entrance.”
💙 Zuri: “It needs to be brighter!”
☕ Ameera: disappeared to make chai. Apparently this is how she handles creative conflict.

Somehow, they did manage to agree on one thing: olive, mint, duck-egg blue and cream.

And now the real challenge begins…

The muses are not allowed to buy the décor.

They have to make it, recycle it, repurpose it or rescue it. Old things will get new lives. Plain things will become beautiful. And knowing these four, there may be a little creative disagreement along the way.
