The original shelving was removed, the space was prepared, and the timber was cut and finished to create shelving that follows the room while keeping the natural character and edges of the wood.

From timber slab to finished kitchen

There’s something special about seeing raw timber find its place in a home.

Unique Duo and JJN Timber & Packaging supplied these live-edge timber slabs for a client’s kitchen remodel, and the finished result came out beautifully.

The natural edges, knots and grain were kept as part of the design, turning the timber into shelving and work surfaces that bring warmth and character into the space. No two pieces are exactly the same — and that’s exactly the point.

It’s always rewarding to see the journey from the original slabs in the workshop to the final installation in the client’s home.

A beautiful example of what can be created when you let the natural character of the timber do the work.

Every time I see this, I am amazed! 🌳🪵
What started as a vision has become something truly incredible. So many hours, so much hard work, and more than a few challenges along the way.
I am incredibly proud of everyone involved, but especially Hein from JJN Timbers, who put his heart, determination, and countless hours into building this mill from the ground up.
Seeing these beautiful slabs of wood come to life makes every difficult day and every late night worth it.
Hard times, hard work, and perseverance really do pay off.
So proud of what you have built, Hein! ❤️
