One of my favourite things in the world is teaching people about pasta and the diverse beautiful world of it, but one of the ultimate parts is going through the OG traditional methods of this practice… the ones with just a rolling pin and wooden board, from beautiful Bologna… this is so very special to me. It takes patience and a kind of reverence for food to take it to this level. It was an absolute joy to share it with these special humans… they properly rocked it! What a wonderful day! 🍷🍝🇮🇹

Happy woman’s day people! Hope that everyone has themselves a beautiful day and are eating many delicious things with the people they love 🥰! We are celebrating with a VERY slow cooked salsiccia ragù and tagliatelle as well as a really delicious 🤤 wine ‘Anysbos Stokalleen Shiraz’🍷 made by an amazing woman in wine Marelise Niemann! It is a pretty damn perfect way to honour this day!

On this day, I joined a special family around a counter and we did something simple… we made pasta by hand together. Not just to “cook”, but to slow down long enough to be fully there and honour a special day.

Delicious food is definitely one of the reason people gather, but I think that gathering is the reason it matters.

A meal made by hand and eaten together doesn’t just fill you up, it changes the pace of the moment. It creates space for stories, for laughter, for those conversations that only happen when everyone is around a table or a counter, when no one is rushing to the next thing. More than the pasta itself… that shared presence is what stays with you.

It was such a pleasure to be a part of this very real and beautiful moment.

One of life’s greatest pleasures is gathering around a table laden with good food and wine, where the gentle clink of glasses, the warm hum of conversation, and the contented smiles of wonderful people with happy hearts and full bellies is the only objective. spiritsandbubbles_sa took us through the new vintages of Albert Ahrens which are meticulously made and absolutely gorgeous! The company, as always was superb! 🥰 It was a deeply satisfying evening.
