Our NAEA-SA Provincial Representatives were invited at the Mangaung District Festival, held at the Mmabana Art and Culture Centre, on Friday, 23 October, and Saturday, 24 October 2026 in Free State.

The festival brought together artists, creatives, and cultural practitioners to celebrate artistic expression, showcase talent, and promote the importance of arts and culture in our communities.

Our participation reflects our continued commitment to supporting arts education, strengthening provincial engagement, and creating opportunities for artists and young creatives to grow and thrive.

Through initiatives like these, we continue to recognise the power of the arts in building communities, preserving culture, and inspiring the next generation.

What a beautiful experience it was! Babu Babsy’s band performed the songs they once shared with him, bringing back cherished memories, and was later joined by his wonderful great-grandchildren.
Indeed, Babu Babsy was a man of honour, whose life touched many and whose presence was deeply cherished. His legacy lives on through the music, the memories, and the generations he leaves behind.

May his beautiful soul continue to rest in peace.

Today was more than a memorial service; it was a celebration of a life well lived.

NAEA-SA was truly fortunate to have met Ntate Babsy Mlangeni. During his visit to our National Arts Education Tour, he shared with us words of wisdom, encouragement, and guidance that touched many of us.

His words will remain with us, carried in our hearts and remembered throughout our journey. His presence may no longer be with us, but the wisdom he shared and the impact he made will continue to live on.

May his beautiful soul rest in eternal peace.
