Hi, I’m Simone, a self-taught South African artist and the woman behind Pretty Dead Decor. I find beauty in the unusual, creating skull and bone art, porcelain art dolls and jewellery that bring together natural history, gothic charm and a little whimsy. As a one-woman business, I do everything myself, from sourcing and carefully cleaning natural specimens to designing and making each creation. No animal is harmed or killed for my art, and every specimen is treated with care and respect. Alongside these creations, I make personal memorial keepsakes honouring beloved pets and loved ones. Whether a piece sparks curiosity or holds a treasured memory, I want it to feel personal, meaningful and beautifully its own.
