Turns out, starting over can be kinda chic.

I didn’t set out with a perfectly mapped-out plan. I simply followed something I loved and kept going.

One project became another. Homes became stories. New people, new places, features, awards, projects across borders and a lot of hard work in between.

Somewhere along the way, I realised there is no age by which your story has to be written.

You can change direction.
You can begin again.
You can surprise yourself.

It’s almost like being reborn.
In a different version of yourself.

And you can still be dreaming about what comes next…

Some spaces don’t ask for attention. They simply invite you to slow down.

It’s been a little while since I last shared a project here, so I thought I’d return with one that’s especially close to my heart.

This bedroom was designed around a feeling rather than a trend. Soft layers, warm earthy tones, delicate textures and a hand-painted mural come together to create a space that feels calm, timeless and deeply personal.

I’ve always believed that the most luxurious interiors aren’t the ones that shout the loudest. They’re the ones that make you exhale the moment you walk through the door.

Design is about creating an experience, not just a beautiful photograph.

People often think harmony comes from using the same colour throughout a home.

It doesn’t.

The real connection happens when materials, artwork, textures, wood tones and styling all speak the same visual language.

The warmth of walnut appears in the furniture, the artwork carries similar earthy undertones, soft fabrics balance the harder finishes, and carefully chosen objects quietly repeat those colours from one room to the next.

Nothing is identical.
Everything belongs.

That’s how a home feels calm, intentional and timeless, without ever feeling repetitive.

There’s something incredibly calming about a bedroom that doesn’t try too hard.

No bold statements. No unnecessary layers. Just thoughtful proportions, tactile materials, warm wood tones and a palette that lets you breathe.

For me, luxury has never been about adding more. It’s about knowing what to leave out.

The result is a space that feels timeless, restful and quietly beautiful..one you look forward to coming home to every single day- Anu Kewalram

Everyone sees the finished home.
Very few see the journey that created it.

The beautiful lighting.
The carefully chosen materials.
The perfectly styled shelves.

What they don’t always see are the conversations, the sketches, the site visits, and the hundreds of thoughtful decisions that shape every home.

That’s the part I love most.

For me, interior design has never been about creating beautiful rooms. It’s about understanding how people live, what they value, and creating spaces that quietly tell their story.

After all these years, I still get excited before every new project.

I think that’s how you know you’ve chosen the right profession.
