Your room will feel unbalanced and too much if you do not know when to stop.
These numbers come from our experience designing real homes in Dubai, not only from design theory. They help us keep a room balanced, functional, and visually connected.
Here are a few numbers we use as simple guidance you can apply to your project:
• 3 main colours are enough for one room: base, supporting tone, and accent
• 1 dominant feature should lead the space, such as a feature wall, statement lighting, or a furniture piece
• 65% room fill helps the space feel comfortable, with enough room for movement and visual breathing space
• 3 objects work well on a console, coffee table, or shelf: one tall, one medium, and one low
• 5 objects can work on larger surfaces when they vary in height, shape, or texture
We use these numbers to make our projects feel harmonious and comfortable.
Save the post to use these numbers as a quick checklist while choosing finishes, furniture, and decor for your home.
