We’re delighted to share that Sofitel Hotel Riyadh has been shortlisted in the Best Use of Art in Interior Design category at the CID Awards 2026: MENA.

For Sofitel Hotel Riyadh, Capsule Arts developed an art narrative rooted in the meeting of Saudi Arabia’s evolving creative identity and the refinement of Parisian haute couture. Bringing together works by Saudi and international artists, the collection creates a dialogue between heritage and contemporary expression, exploring themes of craftsmanship, identity, movement, and cultural exchange. From contemporary interpretations of traditional Saudi references to works reflecting the elegance and precision of Sofitel’s French heritage, the collection creates a layered visual experience that connects the local with the international, while contributing to the character and atmosphere of the hotel.

We’re grateful to Commercial Interior Design for the recognition, and to our clients, artists, artisans, collaborators, and team for bringing this project to life.

We look forward to celebrating this recognition alongside the region’s creative and design community!

So why does the Design Industry need Art Consultants?

A little design humour, but in reality, an Art Consultant is an important connector who not only curates the space but facilitates collaboration, development and ex*****on, keeping both the client’s vision and the artist’s practise at the heart of the project.

Every great project starts with a conversation, and turning that creative spark into a finished space requires expertise.

We speak both languages, helping artists focus on their practice while guiding clients through the process of commissioning, and integrating art into their spaces.

The best collaborations happen when everyone has an expert by their side.

Textile Art is increasingly in high demand requested by Interior Design Teams across Hotels, Residential Projects and F&B spaces. Interestingly, this mirrors a growing interest in textile art across the global art market.

Textiles as an art form that has moved beyond decorative application into expressions of materiality, craft, and narrative.

As always, each image featured is taken from Capsule Arts projects, where textile elements have been developed in collaboration with artists and makers, bringing depth, texture, and cultural resonance into spatial design.

A proud night for our team at the CID Hospitality Awards 🏆✨

We’re honoured to celebrate two incredible recognitions:
The Luxury Collection Hotel Bab Samhan — Winner, Best Local Craft Integration
Kimpton KAFD Riyadh — Highly Commended, Best Use of Art in Hotel Project

These achievements are rooted in the dedication of our team, the vision of the artists, and the skill of the craftsmen who bring each detail to life. Together, their collaboration transforms ideas into spaces that celebrate culture through art and design.

A huge congratulations to all the winners, highly commended projects, and everyone who continues to push the boundaries of hospitality design. Thank you to Commercial Interior Design for an unforgettable evening.

We visited ‘Made in the UAE’ at a group exhibition spotlighting artists contributing to the UAE’s evolving contemporary cultural landscape.

Featuring works by Ahmed Emad, Anila Ashraf, Camelia Mohebi, Elizaveta Pugacheva, Samo Shalaby, Sasan Nasernia, and Yousif Albadi, the exhibition brings together diverse artistic practices and perspectives shaped by their connection to the UAE.

Through painting, sculpture, and mixed media works, ‘Made in the UAE’ reflects the richness of the country’s creative ecosystem while highlighting the voices helping define its present and future. More than a survey of contemporary practice, the exhibition offers a glimpse into the ideas, experiences, and cultural dialogues shaping art in the region today.

On view until 1 July.

Last Saturday, we visited ‘Cross Scripts’ at LAWRIE SHABIBI a summer exhibition where the lines between art, design, architecture, and craft are deliberately blurred.

The works unfold across intersecting visual languages, where geometry takes on ornamental qualities, functional objects shift into sculptural form, and familiar references are reworked through contemporary material approaches.

Spanning painting, sculpture, furniture, jewellery, and textiles, the exhibition draws subtle links between materials and methods, tracing how ideas of making travel across disciplines, histories, and geographies.

It’s an exhibition that reveals itself slowly, rewarding close looking as connections between works begin to surface over time.

On view this summer at Lawrie Shabibi Gallery Unit 21, Alserkal Avenue

The composition features the name of Allah, repeated in two distinct variations and arrangements. A central triangular form is explored through shifting orientations, while the opposing composition presents the name “Allah” rendered in elegant calligraphic form. Drawing inspiration from traditional Islamic geometric patterns found in mosque architecture, Islamic monuments, and cultural institutions, the work reflects a language of symmetry, repetition, and balance.

Through its interplay of structure and spirituality, the piece becomes a meditation on Islamic artistic heritage, where geometry and calligraphy converge to express visual harmony and spiritual reflection.

As we gather this Eid al Adha, may we reflect on devotion, heritage, and the beauty of meaningful form, from all of us at Capsule Arts, Eid Mubarak!

We’re honoured to share that both Sofitel Hotel Riyadh and Kimpton Hotel Riyadh have been shortlisted for the CID Hospitality Awards!

At Sofitel Hotel Riyadh, the art narrative unfolds as a contemporary interpretation of cultural exchange where Saudi Arabia’s evolving creative identity meets the refinement, precision, and discipline of Parisian haute couture. The collection of artworks by Saudi and International artists reinterprets heritage as reinvention.

For Kimpton Hotel Riyadh, the collection takes inspiration from nature, rhythm, and atmosphere thus creating a warm, layered experience through organic forms, earthy tones, and thoughtfully integrated artworks throughout the space.

Thank you to for the recognition, and to every client, collaborator, artist, artisan, and team member behind the scenes who helped bring these projects to life.

Looking forward to the awards night and celebrating alongside so many inspiring names in the industry.
