Every designer has a story. And some of the most interesting chapters happen long before the first project.

Our Managing Director, Dina Murali, recently joined five fellow design leaders at The Spark Storytellers, an intimate gathering hosted by A&D Hub.

The conversation explored the early decisions, career changes, challenges and unexpected opportunities that shape a designer’s journey.

For Dina, that journey began in architecture before her growing interest in interiors led her towards a different creative path.

It was a refreshing opportunity to hear the personal experiences behind some of the industry’s familiar faces, and a reminder of how much we can learn when we share our journeys openly.

Designing a home for someone you haven’t met yet might be one of the key challenges of designing branded residences. Unlike a private home, where every decision can respond to one family’s lifestyle and personality, branded residences need to work for a much broader audience. Business professionals, families, international residents and long-stay guests may all experience the same development very differently.

For Cheval Ladun Living in Riyadh, that meant creating spaces with enough character to establish a clear identity, while remaining flexible enough to accommodate different lifestyles and ways of living.

Materiality, furniture, lighting and spatial planning all play a role in finding that balance.
Ultimately, a successful branded residence should offer the refinement and service associated with hospitality, while giving residents something much harder to design: a genuine sense of home.

GŌBI at The Ritz-Carlton Ras Al Khaimah has been Highly Commended for Best Outdoor Design.

For this project, the design brings together sculptural architectural forms, natural materials and a strong connection to the surrounding landscape. The result is an outdoor dining destination shaped around its setting and the guest experience.

Where the light falls in the morning. Which way the bed faces. The textures you’d want within reach. A room that feels entirely yours.

Our 3D concepts give those late-night thoughts shape, from the overall composition to the smallest bespoke detail.

Before the Movenpick Hotel & Apartments Bur Dubai Ballroom welcomes its first guests, there’s a phase only our team sees: scaffolding stacked high, ceiling discs lifted one by one, and hours spent aligning each element until the room feels seamless.

Behind it is DZ Design, shaping the space from the inside out. Levels checked and rechecked, details refined by the hands that bring our interiors to life.

The finished ballroom is the experience.
