Switching things up in the studio today.

A satisfying little timelapse of how I build up the layers for a classic Regency painting frame. It is nice to focus on the fine ornamental details for a change.

Just a little bit of Darcy for your feed today 🤍

“You must allow me to tell you how ardently I admire and love you.”

Swipe to see the close-up detail of the custom floral border (and the video) I illustrated for this piece. I wanted the pattern to feel dreamy, nostalgic, and its mood to match the sincere warmth of the quote.

Drop a ❤️ if your inner Jane Austen girl needed this on your feed today!

(Available as a physical, museum-quality print in the shop. Link in the first comment.)

👉 Swipe to see how this Spring Bunny hopped onto the page!

This study was an exercise in capturing the character’s pose. I wanted to focus on the alert energy of the animal to make the sketch feel more alive. I used a reference for the bunny to get the proportions right and then added the grass and eggs to finish the scene.

This is Sketch No. 5 in my occasional animal series. I’m sketching it into my Folia sketchbook using a simple HB pencil.

Do you have a favorite animal fact your kids love? Let me know in the comments!

From photo to 19th century style portrait. I transformed a modern photo into a Regency portrait and included foxgloves for that cottage garden feel. It’s a lovely way to capture a child’s likeness that is more than a photo.

Information on my commissions:
• Hand-painted digital illustrations
• Style: Regency or Biedermeier (early to mid 1800s)
• Botanical details of your choice
• Perfect as a personal gift or for a nursery

Commissions are currently open. If you’d like to see your child (or yourself) in a historical garden setting, comment FLOWERS for details!

Which flowers should I feature next? 💌💐

Obsessed with the 19th century aesthetic!

Modern portrait meets Regency fashion and foxgloves.

A look at the workflow behind my illustrations.

Following a consistent process helps keep projects on track, from the first rough sketch and historical research through to the final rendering and delivery.

1. Initial Sketch: Composition and character placement.

2. Research: Gathering details for an authentic setting.

3. Refinement: Tightening lines and shapes.

4. Atmosphere: Establishing the mood with colour.

5. Final Work: Polishing for publication.

I usually take on new projects a few months in advance. For my current availability or to discuss a collaboration, feel free to reach out via the link in my bio.

👉 Early spring focused on consistency and direction.

I worked on historical portraits and increased the number of pencil sketches to strengthen my drawing skills and process.

At the same time, I prepared my Etsy shop and started turning my illustrations into everyday items and art prints.

The priority was to move from ideas and studies to finished work and a clear product offer.
