The color isn‘t painted on, it’s melted (and „cooked“ into the crystal.

Our crystal comes from Austrian makers. Every chandelier is assembled by hand in our Vienna workshop. Since 1845.

This beautiful chandelier was built by Bakalowits after a design by Leopold Bauer for the the house of painter and sculptor Josef Engelhart in 1902.
It is now a part of the Museum of Applied Arts Vienna‘s permanent collection „Wien 1900“.

The beautiful Bakalowits chandeliers in the Gustav-Mahler-Saal of the Vienna State Opera were designed by Ceno Kosak and hand-made by us around 1953. The rehearsals for the world-renowned Vienna Opera Ball take place under their sparkling lights, as well as the lounge / buffet area of the actual ball.

So if you are lucky enough to visit the ball tonight and find yourself sitting down in between all the dancing and celebrating, or you‘re posing for the photographers on the grand staircase: look up and take a look to appreciate our beautiful lights that shine just for you tonight! We wish all guests a luminous time at !
