In conversation with cinematographer Kasia Lewek we talk about observation, timing, and how creating flow on set shapes mood, decisions, and ultimately the image on screen.

Kasia shares how she carefully analyzed the light on her main set, drew inspiration from what was already there, and translated those observations into clear creative decisions — maximizing what nature offered and shaping it into a strong visual language on screen.

This is about process over pressure, and why less intervention can often lead to stronger results.

Perfect time to step outside for a moment to mark the start of the year, and it feels like the right time to open the doors a little. We’ve been working on a lot behind the scenes, and over the coming weeks we’ll start sharing what’s coming this year — very exciting, to say the least!

New ideas, new projects, new energy (partly fueled by a few too many Christmas cookies).

This year at Camerimage, we asked attendees of the Light!Talks to pick a Rick Rubin quote, take a photo inspired by it, share the quote in their caption, tag us — and they could win a Lightbridge kit!

We congratulate the winners and send a huge thank you to everyone who submitted their work. We could only pick three — the choice was difficult — but the goal was never the prize. The goal is the act of sharing.

Lightbridge was born from exactly that: sharing what cinematographer Christina Berger and gaffer, Lightbridge founder Jakob Ballinger, discovered on their journey with reflected light.
And Rick Rubin reminds us of the most important tool of all — the creative mind, and the care it needs to grow.
