BEFORE to AFTER - Parchment lampshades finished with handmade and applied fabric bias trims. My client really liked his existing parchment lampshades and was pleased to find I had a similar parchment producing a lovely, soft glow. Finishing with handmade bias trims gives them a premium finish. Very pleased 😍

9" Tapered lampshades covered in a lovely textured Warwick Fabrics Australia upholstery fabric. These were custom made to suit bedside wall lights. Made with an internal drop fitting so the wires are not as visible from underneath. Working with upholstery fabric on small shades can be a bit challenging requiring extra allowances etc. (I wouldn't have used it on smaller lampshades), but these turned out really well. 😍

I hope you enjoy this 4 min time lapse of two, 22” Bowed Empire, tailored soft lampshade recovers sent to me from Melbourne. Recovered in a faux silk, finished with fringing and handmade bias trims, very happy with the results here 😍.

Tailored lampshades such as these with a significant bow, require precise pattern making, correct tensioning and hand-stretching skills. They are very time consuming and require lots of patience but ultimately they bring you great satisfaction when you get it right! I actually really love the process of hand-stretching. You will notice there are 2 linings, the first is a stretch lining to provide additional layer for a see through fabric, the second is a satin lining to finish the inside of the lampshades, along with providing light diffusion and particularly important for floor lamps. The soft light through these lampshades and underneath truly beautiful ✨

Turning embroidered panels into bespoke lampshades! ✨.

The embroidery by my client is impeccable featuring a delightful Taetia design. 😍 Once transformed into a lampshade, the combination of exquisite needlework and the radiant craftsmanship of the lampshade creates a truly stunning piece to admire. 😍

Always so appreciative of those that entrust their precious embroidered pieces to me, these are special! 💕
