One thing I would design differently now? I would not begin by trying to fill every available space with storage.
Earlier in my career, I often over-delivered on it. More cupboards, more cabinetry, more places to put things whether the client had asked for them or not.
Now, I begin with how the space should feel.
There is value in a kitchen having room to breathe. Not every millimetre needs to be filled with cabinetry. Sometimes, less visual weight creates a more considered, calm result.
The process is still personal. If a client genuinely needs more storage, we build it in. But it should always serve the way they live, not simply the space available
