A smaller size wings, appliqué included, I’m still unsure of the elastic strap size.
I love the colours of the fabrics l, the florals give it an heirloom vibe about them.

More Butterfly wings.
I adjusted the pattern and this time didn’t do the appliqué because it’s a practice. Sizing the straps is honestly the hardest part cause I don’t have a small child at my house to help me, my kids are all grown 🦋

Butterfly wings, or fairy wings, or angel wings, whatever you wish to call them. I used the pattern Simplicity Laura Ashley S9765
I changed the placement of the straps and once I can try them on my niece I’ll know if the elastic straps fit.
I do think some pattern changes are needed but ultimately I’m very happy with how the finished product is

A hand painted name with water colour paints, a card for my niece.
Lightly write the name or message, then start to paint with flowers. I create the flowers by painting 5 or 6 petal shapes, different colours throughout the name, then to make it look fuller I add leaves and the finishing is a cute bee or butterfly.
Anyone can paint a floral name and the paint pallet I have is from Kmart. It does the job and I’m still learning watercolour painting. If I get good at watercolour I’ll then look at investing in a decent paint pallet

I’ve been tinkering away doing odd bits of crafts which I’ll slowly share. Time is always an issue, hence why I’ve changed my approach with my hobby page. I’m less about selling (always happy to take orders) and more about sharing what projects I’m doing and the items used or patterns so you can have a go creating your own.
These Mickey Mouse felt ornaments I created a template and some hand embroidery, with some hobby fill and a blanket stitch to finish. Very easy project to just sit by the heater, watch tv and sew 🧵

I forgot to post this.
I made hand embroidered baby romper.
I used cream cord fabric with a chocolate brown DMC thread to embroider the image.
I love vintage Winnie the Pooh, the whole finished product looks classic, so proud of this romper.

Fabric painting!
Not sure my photo actually does justice for how shimmery and sparkly the fabric paints are. But I’ll never quit my day job to be a photographer 😂
Transferring the image was the most challenging part. Because the fabric stretches drawing on the image is really hard to get accurate. So I used carbon tracing paper to get the images on the fabric then painted over.
This can be another homemade idea to gift, it’s personal, thoughtful and fun to paint. 🎨

Nothing like handmade!
Mother’s Day approaching and I seen this watercolour painting idea with names and thought this would be a great way to create something beautiful for your mum, grandma, nan, aunty etc…
All I used was card and a Kmart watercolour paint pallet. I lightly wrote the word I wanted to use, then picked different colours to make 5 dots into a flower shape. Once I finished the flowers I added in the greenery and leaves. You have creative control, and the end result is really lovely.
Handmade never means cheap, the time, thought that goes into creating something for someone to me is priceless.
