I honestly get so excited seeing my clients homes transform. From one off consultations to full service design, I work hard to ensure everyone has a positive experience.

If you're adding a ledge to your bathroom shower, consider the sizing of the tiles.

It is common for the floor tile to run up and over the ledge, however, what size should you be using?

The most common floor tile sizes are 300mm × 600mm or 600mm × 600mm. To avoid too many grout lines, either opt for the larger format tile, or, if it suits the layout of your bathroom, lay the rectangular tiles so that the larger width is parallel to the ledge.

Now if ledge isn't very wide, the tile size won't matter as much and you can go to town on whatever tile you like.

Art is the perfect way to express personality in your home 🖼

Sometimes it's a big statement piece. Other times, it's smaller unique pieces that add a finishing touch to the room.

This is the view from my Curlewis's clients bed.

Imagine waking up every morning in a room that makes you happy. To have a sense of excitement or calm before you close your eyes to experiencing it again when you wake up.

Starting with the initial design consultation, I worked with my clients on updating their laundry from beginning to end.

The original layout was fine, but it lacked storage and personality. Playing into the country atmosphere, I used Earthy tones whilst still keeping the area light and bright.

Two tone cabinetry, paired with a gloss tile splashback. I wanted to make sure the tiles had some character to them, rather than just going for a plain flat white.

The open shelving can be used for canisters, spare towels or simply, for styling. This opened up that corner in a functional way, rather than having the upper cabinetry go the whole length of the wall and risk feeling heavy.

Now my clients can enjoy the mundane task of washing in a beautiful environment.

I recorded this topic as a story a few months ago and figured it needed to be posted here.

It's easy to get lost in the selection process when building or renovating your home. The key is deciding where you'd like to make a statement, then ensuring there are areas that are simple and practical.

A lot of us are so overstimulated these days that our homes should have areas that feel calm and nurturing 🏡

A beautiful refresh for this spare bed/playroom at project Invermay.

We painted using Dulux Natural White (to give that fresh yet, homely feel), a new blind from Davidson’s Blinds and Shutters

Washable rug, new artwork, trundle bed and soft furnishings. A small storage unit will be placed in the open area once the skirting is put back on which will serve as additional storage to the wardrobe opposite the bed.

A note about washable rugs- They usually come folded in a box, therefore it's normal to have creases until they relax

Invermay laundry 🌿

So excited to see this beautiful space come to life. Not just aesthetically pleasing, it is now an extra functional space for my clients to enjoy.

Upper cabinetry and a pull out hamper added, along with tall storage opposite with a power point for practicality.

The splashback tiles and tapware are a personal favourite of mine in this space, plus the open shelving which adds character but doesn't make the room feel heavy.

Big thanks to the team at Dream Doors Ballarat plus all of the tradies for bringing this vision to life 🙌

Yesterday I spent a few hours at National Tiles & Solomons Flooring Ballarat helping people with colour choices. From floor & wall tiles to splashbacks & carpet.

Stepping into a showroom can feel overwhelming if you're not sure where to start, or if you have so many decisions to make.

Helping homeowners gain clarity on their renovation is something I really love doing.

Before and after at project Leslie. We worked on many areas on this home, but one area that certainly had a glow up was the master bedroom.

New curtains, better storage and some styling was enough to transform this room.

After so many years of living with 'mismatched' furniture, my clients now get to wake up each day to a beautiful view 🤩
