{The Final Chapter — With Deepest Gratitude} Dear friends, After 17 wonderful years, the time has come to close the doors of Quintessential // As we enter our final 4 days of trading at Quintessential, we’re marking the close of a long and rewarding chapter — and want to thank you for being part of it // On Sunday, June 1st, we will officially close the doors to both our Balmain store and our online shop //

What a journey it’s been // Over nearly two decades, our hand-sourced antiques, industrial curiosities, and decorative objects have found homes across Australia and beyond — from beautiful private residences to blockbuster film sets, acclaimed restaurants, and flagship retail spaces // We’ve been honoured to see our store and founder’s home featured in magazines, blogs, and design journals, and were especially proud to be included in Diane Keaton’s book The House That Pinterest Built — a surreal and special moment we’ll never forget //

Launching The Quintessential Magazine was another highlight — a platform that allowed us to connect with and celebrate the design community we so admire, both here and internationally //

In these final days, it’s been moving to welcome so many of you back through our doors — often with friends and family in tow — to explore the last of our collection and share in one final moment of discovery // Your visits, messages, and support have reminded us what this business has meant to so many over the years //

{The Countdown Continues} As we move through our final weeks at Quintessential, we’ve been so touched by your visits, your kind words, and the stories you’ve shared // So many of you have told us that the pieces you’ve purchased from us over the years are among your most treasured — the ones that draw the most compliments, or simply make your home feel more like you // We’ve also been deeply moved by the messages celebrating our eye for design, our taste, and the aesthetic we’ve spent years curating — it’s a reminder of why we’ve loved doing what we do //

Stock is selling quickly, and we’ve just released more in-store — pieces that had been held back until now — so if you’re local, now’s the perfect time to pop back in. // There’s still treasure to be found, and all stock is currently reduced by 30–50% as part of our storewide closing sale //

The Final Chapter — With Gratitude} After 17 incredible years of trading, the time has come for us to close the doors of Quintessential — both our Balmain bricks & mortar store and our online shop // As our lease comes to an end, we’ve made the decision to say goodbye to this much-loved chapter //

What a journey it’s been // Over the years, our carefully sourced antiques, industrial finds & decorative objects have made their way into countless beautiful homes, onto the sets of blockbuster films, into the interiors of acclaimed restaurants, and into the merchandising of global retail brands stores // Both our store and our founder’s home have been featured in glossy interiors magazines, respected design blogs, and the weekend papers — a reflection of the distinct aesthetic we’ve curated and shared with you //

We also launched The Quintessential Magazine, our own digital interiors publication, where we’ve had the privilege of working with some of the most celebrated names in both the Australian & International design and interiors community //

A proud moment? Being featured in American actress Diane Keaton’s coffee table book ‘The House That Pinterest Built’, where our quintessential style & aesthetic were featured as inspiration for her own interiors — an honour we won’t soon forget //

{Quintessential Farmhouse Style} As far as furniture goes, beautiful French farmhouse tables can become the absolute centerpiece of any home // At Quintessential we like to think not only are the tables we select superbly made and stand out pieces, but also have a history and a great story to tell // Dating to the early 1900’s this French cherrywood table is a classic example of farmhouse tables of this period // Of medium proportions (measuring 167cm in length), with a 4 plank table top & breadboard ends, it is stood on classic tapered legs // With a drawer at one end of the table (perfect for storage of table linens, or paperwork if utilised as an office desk), this table offers a wealth of charm & warmth from the beautiful fruitwood timbers // As a dining table it easily seats 6 but can seat 8, or alternatively it makes for a great home office desk // Good, solid condition & construction, fully restored, with beautiful age & warmth to the timbers // L 167CM D 81.5CM H 76CM // Available to view in-store & on-line // DM for details //
