🧶Over the past six years, it has been such a joy to share a special knitting journey with Rika. Although she was initially hesitant to begin this project, (we have had many) her beautiful striped cardigan has turned out to be an absolute triumph — vibrant, stylish, youthful and full of personality, just like she is.

What has made this experience truly special has not simply been the knitting itself, but the friendship woven through every stitch — the stories shared, the encouragement along the way, and the many wonderful belly laughs we’ve enjoyed together.
Loyal customers like Rika become part of the heart and soul of my knitting community, and it has been an absolute privilege to have been a part of Rika’s creative journey 🧶🧶🧶

‘Diva’ at the Performing Arts Centre will finish Sun 26th April
With tickets selling at half price, free train travel & Melbourne weather at it’s best this has been a genuinely terrific & affordable exhibition to see. I was thrilled to see it twice & also get the chance to catch up with old friends in the city at the same time. And I must also recommend a visit to the State Library to see ‘Rebel Heart’.. an exhibition of love letters past & present. Absolutely heartbreaking & heartwarming at the same time. Love never goes out of fashion.

Simple pleasures & loving memories; knitting things I did 15 years ago when I first started working at The Brighton Buttonshop … & my mum was still alive.
Heading into winter, I knew my mum would love this neck warmer.
Now I understand why.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my textile craft adventures here & will miss the opportunity to stock quality premium yarns.
It’s so sad to see the poor quality yarns flooding the market now. It’s understandable given the current climate but I’m glad not to be a part of it.
I have a lovely stash of genuinely good stuff 🧶🧶🧶
