IN BLOOM | Student Work

No two students create quite the same way—and that’s exactly how it should be.

Over the past few months, our workbenches have been filled with students exploring colour, shape, texture, mechanics and their own developing design style.

Some arrived having never arranged flowers before. Others came wanting to strengthen their skills or challenge themselves creatively.

And then there are those wonderful moments when I demonstrate a design, step away…and watch each student interpret it completely differently.

That’s where the magic happens.

Floristry isn’t about copying the teacher.

It’s about learning the foundations, understanding why something works and gradually developing the confidence to make your own creative decisions.

🌿 A very special evening in the studio last night. 💐

With lovely mum and daughter, Cassie and Anabel joining me, we were able to tailor the class to their interests and learning goals, creating a relaxed and personalised floristry experience.

With Cassie’s wedding coming up later this year, we explored the fundamentals of floristry while creating beautiful hand-tied bouquets, chatting about bouquet design, flower care and the spiral technique.

A special mention to Anabel, who picked up the spiral technique so quickly! It was such a joy to watch her confidence grow with every stem she placed. 🌸

Thank you, Cassie and Anabel, for a wonderful evening. I hope this is just the beginning of your floristry journey, and I’d love to welcome you both back to the studio again soon. 💚

Berwick School of Floristry has become such an important chapter in my floristry journey. Over the years it’s grown into so much more than a place to learn about flowers — it’s a community filled with creative, supportive and genuinely wonderful people, and I’m incredibly grateful for every person who has been part of it.

As part of our 10th birthday celebrations, we’d love to welcome past and present students to join us on Thursday evening from 7.30pm to 9.00pm for a glass of bubbles, some birthday celebrations, and the chance to catch up with fellow flower lovers. Whether you’ve attended one class or been part of the journey for years, we’d love to see you. 🌸🥂

🌊 Ocean-Inspired Floral Design Workshop

A beautiful evening in the studio creating designs inspired by the colours, textures and movement of the ocean.

Using vibrant blue orchids, textural blooms and flowing foliage, each arrangement reflected a unique interpretation of the sea. I love seeing how the same flowers can inspire such different creative outcomes.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and brought these stunning designs to life. 💙✨
