I won't pretend to be the perfect consumer or the most educated when it comes to fast fashion, but these low low prices come at a cost. Shein profits BILLIONS while their workers have been seen to be paid in pennies, working crazy hours, and in poor condition. So when it comes to crochet pieces that can only be made by hand, I get a lil annoyed. People want handmade without the handmade price tag 🫩

What kind of a standard does it set for artists wanting to sell their hard work and patterns on Etsy when it's so ridiculously over-saturated with AI slop?? I can almost guarantee most patterns that aren't super niche would have a stupid amount of AI-generated counterparts. It's so ridiculous. TheWorldCrochets on TikTok is an abysmal profile to look at. The fact they use AI for even the most basic of things like a granny square is embarassing. You can't even put in the effort in the Subscription Stickers to be crochet-related too? And man, if I want to have a panic attack, I'll just got their website! I swear there's more ads than actual bu****it crochet content. Shameeee

Crochet Paso a Paso Patrones has a LOT of Followers on Facebook. I can only imagine how many of those people have seen a cute pattern, tried to make it, and been sorely disappointed that what they've made looks nothing like the picture. Based on their Youtube content, this creator seems to be quite talented... but they choose to churn out AI slop instead. It's the sad state of the crochet community

🧡 I actually don't give a f**k if it's cheaper to buy these bundles with copius patterns - 99% of the time it's a mish mash of stolen work, or AI-generated patterns. I can guarantee More Than Knots | Crochet & Embroidery 🧶 is only one of my artists whi had their work stolen. Please go show some support 🧡

WBaiStudio on Etsy has numerous listings with extreme quantities of patterns that you straight up can't trust. The listing pictures are a f**king mess. Please be on the lookout for the telltale signs of SLOP
