New stock from Sinclair Bijker!

These pieces were fired for 80hrs, using fallen trees from the surrounding area as fuel. The colours and textures are a result of flame path and ash build up and always make for a one off piece. The unpredictable nature of wood firing results in pieces that are nuanced in their texture and finish.

Sinclair is a ceramic artist working out of his home studio in south Brisbane. He makes work on a kick wheel that he built last year, emphasising manual process and movement.

Some early landscape platters fired in march. I’ve enjoyed working with this idea and seeing where it can develop. Cracks form in the making process as the clay is stretched. Ash builds up in the firing and form little rivers of green and varying texture over the surface.

Come this weekend for an early look at my exhibition Slow Spin , I’ll be there from 1:30pm on Saturday.

My Exhibition slow spin will be available to see this Saturday! It’s been a busy few days unpacking the wood kiln and sanding some final pots for the show. I couldn’t be more excited to see it come together.

Although the offical opening isn’t until next Saturday at 2pm, this weekend will hopefully give me an opportunity to chat to some new and old faces and for those that want to get in early.
