Scale… It’s really hard to imagine the scale of the pendants in your mind’s eye. And it’s one of the most common questions we receive about them. So here’s a photo I recently took for a customer to show them the difference between the medium and large round pendant.

A surface shaped by hand, stone and time.

Tadelakt is a traditional Moroccan lime plaster, applied without grout lines or visible joins.

The result is a seamless, breathable and water-resistant surface with a softly polished, stone-like finish.

HOW IS IT MADE?

Layers of lime plaster are applied, compacted and burnished by hand with a smooth stone.

This slow polishing closes the surface, creating its distinctive movement and gentle sheen.

An olive oil soap is traditionally worked into the fresh lime, helping to make the surface water-repellent while preserving its natural variation.

No two applications will be quite the same.

WHERE IS IT USED?

Tadelakt brings warmth to restrained spaces without asking for decoration. When correctly specified and applied, Tadelakt can be used across bathrooms, curved walls, built-in basins, niches and sculptural shelving.

Some Tadelakt can also be used outdoors, depending on the substrate, climate and level of exposure.

TADELAKT IN ANOTHER FORM

Our Palus pendant in Chime is handcrafted from terracotta in a Moroccan artisan atelier, then finished in Tadelakt.

Its softly textured, water-repellent surface brings the character of traditional lime plaster into a smaller, sculptural object.

Suitable for kitchens, bathrooms and other interior spaces.

A question we get asked often is: Can the seagrass rug handle pets, kids, spilled wine, food, etc. The answer is yes, the Seagrass rug can handle life. It works well in high traffic areas, under dining tables, in homes with kids, pets and frequent parties. 

One of the our favourite things about the Seagrass rug is that despite being hand made of natural materials, it’s not fussy. The seagrass has a natural layer of wax, which means it can handle spills and stains and it can also be hosed down if necessary (though it needs to be dried thoroughly after). It’s very sturdy and can handle furniture, foot traffic and the demands of real homes.
