“But isn’t resin toxic?”

If you install seamless surfaces, you’ve probably heard this question more than once. And it’s understandable: for many clients, “resin” still means a strong smell on site and having to keep the windows open for a few days before they can use the room again. They remember that experience — and they ask you about it.

Oltremateria® surfaces are made from a different base. They are single-component, water-based emulsions, formulated with polymers derived from renewable sources such as sunflower oil and certain plant seeds. They contain no cement or epoxy resins and are solvent-free.

The system contains no harmful or hazardous substances: according to the technical data sheets, Ecomalta® and Oleomalta® are classified as non-hazardous, non-toxic and not subject to transport restrictions (ADR/RID).

So when a client asks you that question, you can answer with the technical data sheet in hand.
And that changes the conversation.
