Thank you so much to the team, BCA, community contributors (art, financial support, spreading the word, keeping the gallery open, providing food, drink and music at the opening, visiting, voting, and supporting the art community.) So much talent and variation within the theme. A real treasure for Bundanoon. Thank you, again!

Knowing when to stop:

Some paintings sit in the studio for ages, just waiting for their moment when the time is right and the magic happens ✨️ Equilibrium matters more than explanation.

Writing

Some of you have been here for many years and have followed my work through community projects, charity initiatives, exhibitions, teaching, and earlier bodies of art.

This page holds that history: the cockatoos, the workshops, the collaborations, and the work that shaped my practice.

My newest work now lives at That space is dedicated solely to my current direction: recent paintings, new ideas, and the evolving body of work coming out of Morton National Park and the beaches of Norfolk, UK.

If you’d like to follow what I am making now, and see the work as it develops in real time, you can find

Thank you for being part of the longer journey that made this next chapter possible.

Preparing the Ground: Part 5

Before colour and before the energy of the sea arrives, the surface carries the movement. Texture paste goes down first. It's pushed, scraped and built up across the canvas to create the ridges and troughs that will later hold paint, light and shadow. This is where the rhythm of the coastline begins.

Each of the videos show structure before story and surface before atmosphere.

Large mixed-media beach painting in progress!

Layering creates visual memory. Even when you cannot see individual marks, you can sense them. I usually paint on white canvases, but painted this one, for the purpose of the videos.
