Ive had this conversation with that many installers and shops. This is for my tiler mate and my other floor laying mate. Mapei primer grip it states deglazed tiles.
P9 i was told, you dont need to deglaze the tiles but you do.

Did this at Maroochydoore, came up pretty good. Steel archtraves, 2 days grinding then some. Then pretty decent skim, 5 thick skims in the hall kitchen and 1 bedroom entrance and side of that room. Someone did a pretty sad looking 8k floor levelling job on it. It is filled up to 40mm in places though so it is alot of leveller and still wasnt enough. I wouldnt of liked to see it before hand. Then the painter thought he would make it easier on us, thank you. Very painful with the paint being very stubborn and the leveller not bonded in places. 7th floor no plumbing or water

Had the chance to get the new / old toy tdamn she is heavy. Basically the ramps the bench, everything gets close to colapsing. There was a large open area aswell. For a 520 she is still a bit hard to manouvre. Not as good at finding and destroying humps as the smaller ones, but i can see why she would be perfect for polishing. That'll come soon enough.

This was how it ended at Dbay with the highset for Solomons, 2mm dunlop plank, would have shown everything. I dont think its a pass but its close. I dont think anyone walking around with the lights off will trip over the humps, or over extend there knees in the dips anymore, or heres hopingšŸ˜…

Solomons gave me this one at Dbay, with hardboard and and 1-2mm skim. Even promised it would be done in a day. Had multiple skims, grinded the yellow tounge down, grinded the hardboard down. Could take any more of the high spots so bulk filled the low spot up to 3 or 4 cm over the worst bits and 1cm was pretty common average. Even after so many coatings, was still that far out after dry laying did some more bulk filling in a few spot. Some of the pictures are 60cm builders square and goes over the skirts over a 20cm length.

Matching up to an existing subfloor can be difficult. Different widths, lengths, colours and patterns make it a tough decision to decide whether its to close, or not close enough. Few challenges, brand new cusrom 2 pack kitchen meaning ultra careful. Pull up a little bit of existing tile underlay, unfortunatly built on and screwed down with security lock screws. I had the right drill bit but its filled with tile glue anyway. Imagine your brand new kitchen caked in this much silicone, all the way down to the tile underlay. This is very hard to remove, normally i run into this on skirting boards and there an easy fix should the be scraped, not so easy with 2 pack. This was completed with extreme care and took alot longer than i anticipated. Nothing noticeable at the end, thank you dear Jesus. Tounge and groove original boards loose, screwed into place, and the floor was well out requiring hardboard/ply, grinded till i could do more then bulk filled a few times followed by a grind. They say you can't skim coat over timber, sometimes you just have to and the product is new and designed for this application. Ardex MRf moisture resistant feather did the trick and stood up to the stand up grinder afterwoods, so my intuition is thats its 100% going to stand up to normal everyday movement and traffic. The rest was easy started in the middle so the different widths would be gradual, and even going out to both sides and the rest is history. This product was on special and supplied and installed with hardboard and prep for $88m² inc gst.

I lost this quote, when letting them know all floors need a mechanical clean, its stipulated on every drum of glue, box of planks, or bag of coating. Let alone the vinyl glue. Minimum is a grind. They scraped it more which was great but unnecessary. The lightest mechanical clean Ive ever done. Just enough to highlight the humps and clean the glue off. I dont know what the retailer made, but i made $4 less per m², wow thats not alot to have it done right. I dont care how vigourous or what machine you are using, good luck with a piece of sand paper. They were adamant it didnt need a grind and the floor is flat enough for the 3mm plank. I laid carpet last week i can see it, looks good, not for me though. I did explain it was like the paint rubbing of the skirts, because they wern't sanded. That went down well, apparently the original was sanded. Im not having trouble with the original.

Luckily have still have had lovely townhouses at Dakabin. From memory about $38m² give or take a doller for standard installation. I dont know why almost everyone I know hates doing carpet. Your rarley asked to do anything you shouldnt, and when you are, its normally a cheap enough fix without comprimising your work.

The Dbay Disaster turned out alright. Regrettable yes. Cleaning the filter, emtying the seperater, and changing the bags outside apparently isnt a good idea. Been doing it that way 3 years to keep silica dust off my floor and out of the house. The overflow or spillage, even though there isnt enough to see, when you run over it with a lawn mower is apparently very visable and definatly worth having a chat about. I think it must be the extra 50 I wanted for cutting back his chipped tiles in 3 doorways. Already going well with 6 segments and 6 half segments, 2 bags of 20kg rapid, 3.5 10kg bags of feather, and a 10kg bag of fine finish, and from the retailers gifts to me of free trims, laminate removal, and quater price dump. Next one will be better than the D'Bay Disaster. Lovin it.
