I swear this store runs on some kind of cosmic joke. When it’s quiet, it’s so quiet I start wondering if we accidentally closed and no one told me. But the moment I even think about relaxing to concentrate on my crochet, the universe says, “Oh look, Maryann seems calm — RELEASE THE CUSTOMERS,” and suddenly the stampede storms in like it’s a limited‑time apocalypse sale.

Apologies if you couldn’t move in my shop at lunchtime. It doesn’t happen everyday 😁

Small donations make a difference. I remember when I was a little girl. In our village, the children from the Anglican Church used to get support from Christian Children’s fund, CCF. They also offer scholarships to school kids who are doing well in school. I didn’t get those privileges because my family are Pentecost. It’s nice to see that combined churches are now working together to give Samaritan boxes to those in need. No matter what faith or religion they are.

I wrote this poem 17 years ago to teach my children about helping others in need. Teaching them humility and compassion. And glad to see that my oldest daughter sponsored a girl from South Africa through Caritas at 15 years old. Providing support from her own hard earned money from working.

I hope you enjoyed the poem.

Last year I posted this upcycled denim skirt I added a crochet trim on. A customer saw the post and dropped a bagful of denim jeans she no longer wears. I found the bag recently while cleaning up. I have been sick in the past few weeks/month and my brain wasn’t in the position to write my manuscript of my new upcoming book. So everyday, I busied myself crocheting.
