🎉 What a special day it was last Saturday! The opening of C**A’s Time Capsule was a truly wonderful occasion.

So much care went into putting the capsule together 25 years ago, and it was fascinating to uncover its treasures and discover what life at the Caloundra Arts Centre was like back in 2001. It was especially lovely to have some of our long-standing members there to share their stories and memories with us.

Special recognition and thanks go to Joan S, one of the members whose foresight helped bring the Time Capsule to life 25 years ago. Thank you for initiating and organising this wonderful piece of C**A’s history! 💛

🍰 After the excitement of opening the capsule, we enjoyed delicious snacks and refreshments, with the celebratory anniversary cake taking centre stage! Made by the talented Lin S, a member of C**A’s Hard Pressed Printers group, this cake was truly an edible work of art, beautifully celebrating the diversity of Caloundra Arts Centre’s creative groups, our rich history and the Time Capsule itself. Thank you, Lin, for creating such a special centrepiece!

🥳 A huge thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate! We’re so proud of our creative community and the wonderful connections that bring us together, past and present.

🫶 A big shout-out to our fantastic volunteer team who helped everything run smoothly, from setting up and packing away to catering, serving and all the little things that made the occasion extra special. We couldn’t have done it without you!

🧶 LEARNING SPINNERS GROUP – STARTING SOON! 🧶

New to spinning wool? Curious to know how to make your own yarn? Then this is for you! A Learning Spinners group is starting at Caloundra Arts Centre!

📅 First Day: Saturday 3 October 2026
⏰ 9am–12pm
📍 Caloundra Arts Centre Association, 5 North Street, Caloundra
🔄 The group will meet fortnightly

These Saturday sessions are ideal for anyone wanting to learn spinning techniques, explore different fibres and develop their skills. The group leader will provide guidance and demonstrations, with some “homework” to enjoy between sessions.

The Learning Spinners is a sub-group of Caloundra Spinners & Weavers.

🧶 Have a spinning wheel? Great – bring it along! If you don’t have one yet, there’s no rush to purchase a wheel or buy your own fibres. Several wheels will be available for beginners to learn on initially, and fibre for learning and practising will be supplied at a nominal cost.

It was an absolute joy to host the Caloundra Chamber of Commerce’s Coffee in Caloundra networking event! ☕️

A huge thank you to all our groups, members and volunteers who helped set up the wonderful displays and make the event happen. And, of course, thank you to everyone who came along!

We loved sharing our creative space, making new connections and catching up with old ones. It was a fantastic morning, and we hope everyone enjoyed it as much as we did. What a great community 💙✨
