Here's what I made on tonight's live over on Essential Stencil page. Today I was looking through some old sheet music mum gave me years ago, much of which was from my Grandpa, Clyde Nichols. This piece stood out to me. So I framed it for my craft room. I love Grandpa’s name hand written by him in fountain pen on the top cover. I love that it says “Bless this House”. I love that it is sheet music, representing to me, the legacy of worship in music passed down from the generations. Grandpa used to sing in church choirs and taught my mum to sing harmonies with him. My mum taught me to sing harmonies with her as she played piano in our lounge room when I was about 12. I enjoyed teaching my girls how to pick out harmony parts to songs as we drove in the car or listening to CDs at home in their early teens. Memories treasured forever in my heart. Music has always been such a beautiful part of our lives.
Is there something in your family that has been passed down through generations that you have beautiful memories of and want to pass on to your own children or grandchildren?
PS. I love the little aged burnt hole in the bottom right edge of the sheet music. I wonder what happened here. 🤷🏼‍♀️ My imagination is telling a story of a piano candle that was held a little too close to try read the music … haha. Who knows? What do you think?
