We are excited to see our design for Clyde North Police Station nearing completion! This $30 million state of the art facility not only provides a modern workspace for police members but also contributes to the surrounding growing community with a contemporary and welcoming civic identity, to enhance community safety and support in Melbourne’s southeast corridor. Last week we were thrilled to join RMIT University for the official opening of the new Trades Innovation Centre at RMIT University’s Bundoora East campus. Designed by Foreground Architecture, the new centre provides state of the art, collabortaive and multi-discplinary training spaces for students in building and construction, carpentry, plumbing and electrotechnology programs.

Thank you to RMIT University, builders Alchemy Construct® and our amazing project team that worked collaboratively to deliver this fantastic project.

Foreground places the community at the centre of our solutions. Looking back today at the Eastern Hub designed for Karingal genU, the Hub has been embraced by the community, and is a much loved facility as shown by recent feedback from a community member

Completed Project: Jackson School modernisation

The upgrade of Jackson School, a P-12 government special school aimed to improve accessibility and support for all students. The new masterplan relocated spaces to suit the needs and level of independence of students. We utilised permanent modular construction for minimal disruption. The upgraded facilities include a bright library, therapy spaces, senior learning spaces, a food technology hub, and an outdoor play area honoring Indigenous culture, enhancing the learning environment significantly.

This week Foreground hosted our annual National Breast Cancer Foundation Pink Ribbon Breakfast morning tea. The team came together to celebrate this worthwhile cause, raising over $500, which will be matched by the company.

Foreground Architecture is excited to share the new Clyde North Police Station is set to start construction. Designed by Foreground Architecture as Principal Consultants, the new $30 million state of the art facility will support Victoria Police to better service the community in the south eastern growth corridor. Drawing on our knowledge and experience working with Victoria Police for over 20 years, our focus is on bringing human-centric and biophilic principles to develop an environment that promotes wellbeing for staff and visitors; and to create a safe and welcoming environment that not only engages with, but also contributes to the surrounding community.

We look forward to sharing more of the project as construction progresses.

Completed Project | Student Village Melbourne Enhanced Study Space

Foreground is proud to share the recently completed Student Village Melbourne Enhanced Study Space. The project focussed on the conversion of an existing study lounge to an enhanced study space. Our Interiors team developed spatial and furniture concepts to create zones for different types of study tasks to give students a variety of choices and create a calming relaxing space that would also act as an breakout space as an extension of their living spaces. Congratulations to the team on a fantastic outcome.

Completed project | Beechworth Primary School modernisation

One of the best ways to maintain historic buildings is to keep them relevant to the communities they serve. Built in 1875, the heritage-listed Beechworth Primary School is an example of significant educational architecture returned to its former glory. Tackling quality, maintenance and approachability issues through an extensive restoration, refurbishment and new addition program, Foreground delivered contemporary learning facilities defined by welcome, amenity and intuitive flow.

We are thrilled that Foreground’s first Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan was formally endorsed by .

Long committed to designing place-responsive solutions, we support our team in building their knowledge of designing with Country, First Nations culture, history and design principles to support considered design and project delivery, and culturally safe approaches. Development of our first Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan formally supports this commitment.

Led by our RAP Champions, Associate Director & Operations Manager Jessica Hyde, and Director Daniel Coomber, we established a working group to develop our Reflect response. Our Reflect RAP is the reflects our teams commitment and passion for change, reconciliation, and increased representation of First Nations culture in our design responses.

We see our Reconciliation Action Plan as an opportunity for the practice to take meaningfully and sustainably take positive action to advance reconciliation. Based on the core pillars of relationships, respect and opportunity, our Reflect RAP focuses on fostering respect, economic equity and supporting First Nations self-determination.
