✨ Look What We Made! ✨

We now have a dedicated little area in the studio to showcase all the wonderful creations made right here at Saltbush!

From our Kids Creative Workshops to our adult workshops, this space will be filled with colour, creativity and all the wonderfully unique things created by our makers.

I can’t wait to watch this area change, grow and evolve over time as more beautiful creations are added. 🤩

🧵 Well… this wasn’t part of the plan! 🤪

2 out of 3 of my sewing machines are officially out of action and I’m now patiently waiting for parts to arrive.

And as you can see, my 60-year-old Adler straight stitch was just as surprised as me… 😂

So it looks like there won’t be much sewing happening for the next couple of weeks…

But let’s be real, I’m sure my ADHD brain will find something creative to do in the meantime. 😂🎨🧵

Who knows what I’ll start next!

✨ New Pattern Design = Brain Rot… but exciting times! 🤪

After plenty of pattern tweaking, my newest design is finally complete!

This time I’ve created a cropped cami with wide straps, designed especially for my one-of-a-kind upcycled clothing collection.

The best part? This new pattern will let me transform even more beautiful forgotten textiles into unique, wearable pieces. I can’t wait to see all the different fabrics and colours this design comes to life in.

☀️ The Reality of a Small Business Owner ☀️

I’ve had a few people mention lately that I look tired, stressed & overwhelmed… and to be honest, I have to agree. The foggy brain has definitely been kicking in, and I’ve noticed my creativity starting to fade.

Running a small business is one of the most rewarding things I’ve ever done… but it’s also one of the hardest.

Behind every workshop, every handmade piece and every social media post are long days, late nights, problem-solving and wearing what feels like a hundred different hats.

Some days everything falls into place. Other days, nothing seems to go to plan.

So today, I gave myself permission to pause.

We headed to my favourite place—Mother Nature. 🌿

Fresh air. Grounding with earth. Deep breaths. No deadlines. No to-do lists. Just the sound of nature and the reminder that sometimes the most productive thing you can do is slow down.

You can’t pour from an empty cup, and looking after your mental health is just as important as looking after your business.

I’ll be back in the studio on Monday, feeling refreshed, inspired and ready to create again.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed too, this is your reminder to take a break, breathe deeply and spend some time in nature. It really is good for the soul.

One of my favourite creations to date.
This one-of-a-kind two-piece set was handcrafted from a thrifted single bed sheet, proving that beautiful fashion can come from the most unexpected places.

I absolutely love giving forgotten textiles a second life and transforming them into something unique that can be loved all over again. ♻️
