What started as Alykat Gallery & Studio back in 2020 has now grown into The Laneway Gallery, and I've just celebrated the one-year milestone with a very Alykat-esque group exhibition as a little nod to where it all began 💖

I’m incredibly proud of this little gallery (especially in a regional town and in times like these), but creating space for affordable, alternative art is still a huge passion of mine and I hope I can find a way to keep it going through all this madness.

Anyone noticed the new poster design for Nambucca Valley Open Streets Festival looks a little Alykat this year? Well, you’d be right!! 👏😻🚦

It’s been an adventure working with lovely Joel at Good Crew and the gorgeous photo's from last year's event by And the trees photography to create this mammoth digital collage, launching their next free festival taking over the streets of Macksville NSW on February 14.

Scroll through the close up snippets to see the detail in bringing all of the images together and added illustrations highlighting the river meets the sea concept with local totems and animals of the area playfully interacting.

It’s a huge family fun day out with local band stages and activities, markets and games, and a spectacular fireworks display to finish up your Valentine’s Day! Definitely worth checking out if you’re in the mid north coast region 🫶

Hello friends!! I’m starting the year off with a couple of fun surprise collage workshops invited by the fine folks at Yarrila Arts and Museum 🙌

There’s an all ages (12+) contemporary collage session AND a cheeky collage & cocktails 18+ evening session – so excited for this! Inspired by the brilliant current exhibition CREATION by ✂️

I’ll also be making a workshop appearance at YAM’s free “Up Late” night at the gallery on Jan 22nd from 5pm with live performances by current exhibiting artist Hossei , music by , Emerald Island Distillery bar, and .pizza

I kinda love how ugly it is 😹 Is that a thing??

I’ll be in this Saturday setting up an Alykat & Friends summer exhibition with some different stuff like this 😻

I’ll have Nick my framer dropping off another batch of recycled timber frames and I have some really impressive large, quirky, ornate Alykat framed goodies I’ll be hanging on the wall alongside some colourful and whacky other artists.

I am loving the latest op-shop unique frame finds this week. I’m going to be pairing my fave prints with some unusual and preloved frames, giving them a new adventure – an affordable Christmas gifting adventure! ✨

So please think of these for your under $50 Kris Kringle presents, and I’ll be framing all sizes and designs, including huge ones that a few people can chuck in for to make a memorable group gift.

Looking forward to setting up a market stall alongside some wholesome food, tunes and views at .midnorthcoast’s Spring Fling at Valla Hall in a couple of weeks.

I’ll have market sales and bundles ready for Christmas gifting and spoiling, and I love the chill arvo/early evening feels too 😌

Byo drinks & picnic rug and settle in for the afternoon. Hope you can make it for a little visit 💖
