This small bunch of artificial real-touch natives this morning is all inspired by texture, texture, texture.

Look at these beautiful textures of the banksia, gum nuts and the beautiful sedum spray.

Grateful. Beautiful. Simple. 🌿☀️

As a florist and a creator, I have always had a deep love for Australian bush flowers and natives. 🌿

It’s the incredible textures that draw me in — from the leaves and blooms to the foliage, sticks, pods and seeds. There is so much beauty in our Australian landscape.

Here on our five acres, I’m lucky enough to be surrounded by an abundance of it — gum, wattle, grevillea, proteas and so many beautiful native foliages.

There is just one little problem… my gorgeous kangaroos think some of my native flowers are rather delicious! 🦘😂

So, rather than picking what grows naturally here or watching it disappear, I’ve decided to let my garden remain exactly as it is — wild, natural and full of life — and create arrangements that can be enjoyed forever.

I’ve been playing with some beautiful, incredibly lifelike artificial natives and botanicals, creating everlasting arrangements inspired by the beauty growing all around me.

I’d love to know what you think. 🤍

Would you be interested in having one of these beautiful, everlasting Australian native arrangements in your home?

If you love them, I’ll keep creating them…🍃

🥚🌿 Clever little chickens…

Our beautiful girls have delivered their very first two eggs! 🐔🤍🥚🥚

And of course, they chose the first day of spring to do it. 🌸 What a gorgeous little gift from the girls to welcome a new season.

The sun is shining, the gardens are waking up, the birds are singing, and there are two little eggs sitting in the basket. It really doesn’t get much sweeter than this.

Welcome, Spring. Happy Spring! 🌿☀️🌼

What a gorgeous, glorious day.

Enjoy every little bit of it. 🤍

Growing quietly all by itself…
swaying in the breeze…
waiting for the right little hands to discover it, pick it, and make a wish.

Perhaps that’s the magic of living close to the earth —
sometimes the most beautiful wishes are already growing quietly in the garden, just waiting for us to notice. 🌿✨🤍

And somehow, this little moment feels even more magical to me…

Only recently, I picked up my pencil again and began drawing this picture — a little thistle down growing here on our five acres, and my gorgeous daughter as a little girl, running freely through these very fields.

It’s only just begun, with so much more still to draw and complete… but already, I’m looking at it and thinking, wow.

Perhaps it was meant to be, a beautiful little message from the universe. 🤍

Good morning from The Acreage Journal 🌿

What a glorious way to start the morning.

Birds singing, the sun slowly coming over the trees, and that beautiful stillness before the day begins.

I love these quiet little moments in time — sitting and taking it all in before the hustle and bustle of normal family life begins.

There is something so special about the mornings here on the acreage. Just nature, stillness and a moment to simply breathe.

Slow mornings. Simple pleasures. Country life. 🤍🌿

There is a beautiful hum across the native garden on the acreage today, as the bees gather in their hundreds. Their gentle chorus is one of my favourite sounds of winter.

Every year, I wait patiently for one very special flower to bloom… the Eastern Waxflower. It has always been my absolute favourite.

The tiny rose-coloured buds slowly open through the softest shades of pink before revealing delicate white blooms. Not only are they breathtaking to look at, but they are also irresistible to the bees, who seem just as enchanted by them as I am.

When cut for a vase or woven into a floral arrangement, the Eastern Waxflower fills the room with the sweetest citrus fragrance. A simple bunch on its own brings such beauty, freshness and a sense of calm to any home.

I also love pairing it with beautiful pink proteas. Together, they create one of my favourite winter combinations—soft, textural, fragrant, and completely timeless.

Sometimes it’s the simplest gifts from nature that bring the greatest joy. 🌸🐝

Stop the press… who is that? 🤭

Why, it’s none other than Miss Georgina, strutting her stuff down the runway like she owns the place! Head held high, feathers fluffed to perfection, and serving confidence with every step. ✨🐔

Someone clearly thinks she’s the queen of the acreage… and to be fair, we wouldn’t dare tell her otherwise! 🤎🌿

The studio makeover isn’t quite finished yet. There are still a few final touches to complete, but after 18 months, the studio doors reopened a fortnight ago, and it was such a special moment to be pouring candles once again.

Today is an exciting day because those candles have now had time to cure, which means it’s finally time for the all-important burn and fragrance test.

Many of you will remember that at Frog & Tilly I was known for using beautiful, pure soy wax. For this new chapter, I’ve continued with that tradition, but I’ve also been experimenting with a gorgeous blend of pure soy wax and natural beeswax. I’m so excited to compare them both and discover how they burn and throw their fragrance.

I’ve also introduced two new signature scents that feel perfectly at home in this slower, more intentional season of life.

Coconut Milk & Honey brings warmth, comfort and a feeling of home, while Acreage Wattle—inspired by our own beautiful native wattles—captures the essence of life here on the acreage and everything The Acreage Journal has come to represent.

This truly feels like the beginning of something very special.

The studio doors are open once again, not just for candle making, but for all the beautiful things that will slowly be created here on our five-acre sanctuary. Over time, you’ll see new handcrafted collections introduced under The Acreage Collective—each one inspired by nature, the changing seasons, and the simple joy of slow, intentional living.

I’m so looking forward to sharing this journey with you, one handcrafted piece at a time.

There is something so special about watching little hands pressed into clay, creating without rules or expectations. We wandered through the bush together, foraging for leaves, seed pods, feathers and little treasures from nature to gently press into each piece.

Slowing down, sharing my creative passions, creating, love for nature and exploring… these are the moments I hope my children will always remember.

Life on the acreage isn’t about perfection. It’s about these simple, ordinary moments that quietly become the most treasured memories.
