Workshop completed!

Thanks to everyone for braving the weather and adapting on the fly with wind and rain 🌧️ and as always a huge thankyou to for organising and providing such a fantastic venue!

Super stoked to be sharing the joy of metalwork and watch you all take home something you were really proud of.

The next rose workshop is up on the website for the 29th of August and half the tickets are already gone so get in quick!

Any suggestions on what the next one should be? We are thinking plasma cutting. Birds and bugs maybe???

Much love ✌️

Like a Trex. With metal robot arms... Under the sea... On a submarine.

Look if you've followed for a spell you've probably seen some typos. I don't apologies.

Tag a UNIMIG user. Think they forgot to send my CNC plasma ... Must have forgotten to sponsor me to 🤦‍♀️

Might as well go look at my metal/scrap art while you're here 🤷‍♀️

Weird format I know, but I thought people want to know why I get fascinated by one thing or another.

This one was a prototype. Now, same as always, I know the process and can refine and biggerise or miniaturise future efforts. Yeah... I know, people liked the joke, not the fish, but thanks for all the views guys. Over 420 000 across platforms, with 370k on tiktok and counting. What the hell is that about?!

This one was for my boy, he also shares a passion for the ocean and marine life. He will quite confidently and happily tell you what fish you misidentified, even if he is wrong 😂

I really liked working with wood for a change, quieter, cooler, something I'd like to invest some more time into for sure!

If you like what I do, random facts, metal or woodwork, drop a follow. It seems tobreally help me open doors I didn't even know existed.

Sometimes you just gotta make the thing. It's a fine line, wanting to share the process, but also wanting to just focus on the process yourself.

Been quiet on here as I've been sorting stuff for workshops. I was going to advertise for the bullrush one in a few weeks butttttt it's sold out 😂 once I get all the stuff built to do them, maybe one more type of workshop to put in the cycle I can full focus back into making more art, less industrial. My reels page and home pages are looking like 2 different pages at the moment but it'll sort itself out maybe... But hey, gotta make the things to make the things, must be the old blue collar in me. I've got one more welding table to make, one more workbench to fix, and a few big benders to finish.

If the behind the scenes of merging industry and art tickles your pickle, drop us a follow!

This ship. This little ship, as if the Norns themselves weaved it, really changed the trajectory of the year.

"Salt & Soil" - When Ragnar went to take Paris (yes it happened, possibly sprinkled with some good storytelling additives), he discovered they had created blockades in The Seine to stop his advances. Never someone to let an inconvenience stop him, in the dead of night, they pushed their boats on to the bank... And lifted them. They carried them, rolled them, pushed them and dragged them thousands of feet to slip back into the water after the blockade.

For me, I love big waves. I love the wild ocean and all her fury. If it's choppy and wild, good. But I think about this. I'm on my pops old boat that is made of steel and has survived all that Albany can throw at it. I'm on 1800ccs of Yamaha's finest. Yet there are moments, some in this very bay in the background of these photos, I think oh hell. I've made a mistake. It's solid.

Yet these people. They sailed the North Sea. In wooden boats. Then carried them over land. All for the unknown.

When it's cold, I'm sore, I'm tired and I don't want to drag my butt 50 meters out to create, make that video, exercise, get to the ocean or whatever it is I should be doing, I look over at one of my little boats and ponder what they achieved with porous steel and sticks, and drag myself out. It always ends in a better adventure.

This is currently available if you want to have a daily reminder of the adventures the world can bring.

Andddd the first round of rose workshops completed! Genuinely had a blast delivering these and seeing everyone take home their own unique piece. Watching you all go through the ups and downs we all do as creatives and grow in confidence throughout the sessions, to take home something you were all really proud of was such a kick!

Thanks again to for hosting and all the behind the scenes work you put in and keep your eyes peeled for the next Bullrush workshop at that marvellous place! It might be closer on the horizon than you think.

Feel free to get in contact if you have any questions or want any reminders about the day, and I've deliberately kept everyone's faces out of pics, but if you are not thrilled you're in a picture let me know and I'll swiftly remove it!

"Off the deep end" - this was so much fun to make. I'd go as far to say the most fun I've had making something.

It speaks volumes about the pace this art thing I've been pursuing has been moving. From messing round in the shed and Cowaramup Mens Shed, to Sculpture by the Bay with the wonderful help from the Christian Fletcher Gallery, then boom, workshops and pieces in a gallery that wouldn't have been possible without the crazy support and belief from Abby and Honor at The Barn and Emily from Brushstrokes of the South West.

This little gas fitting has been sitting on my fireplace for months waiting for me to finish the thousand half done projects before starting another. Like always, finding something cool to mount it on is harder than the build itself, so I made this cool fan coral for it.

I love the storytelling difference between just a fan coral or sub alone, or this little guy off to explore the depths of the unknown. Treasure? Predator? Prey?

It wasn't without its problems though. I have no idea what that bottom gear is made from. But it sure as hell ain't steel. Weld wouldn't stick to it so instead I built up weld to wrap into the gear to secure it like a bird foot on a branch. The hotter the gear got, the more oil came out of it. Please tell me if you know what the hell it is? Manganese maybe?!? Super cool anyway. I hope you all like it as much as I do, or not as I sure don't want to let go of him too soon!
