37 hours of labour, two hospitals, a hostage situation, labouring on the side of a freeway, hijacking of an ambulance, and eventually you came into the world !

One day I’ll make a movie of it! If you are pregnant never ask me to tell you this story!

Bless the supportive nature of this community that my practice now calls home 🫶🏻

This months local artist is Karen Morton of Kaz Morton Ceramics.

Karen is a Master of Fine Art graduate in painting and ceramics and uses traditional techniques to create both functional and non-functional pieces. Inspired by the simplicity of everyday Karen invites us to take a closer look... Unexpected symbols, nostalgic linen and wallpaper patterns feature in her ceramics. In her work she seeks to explore and encapsulate the bewilderment of an undiscovered object or surface. Her paintings are abstract and make reference to her ceramic practice.

The Kaz Morton Ceramics studio is located in the newly created Arts space in Cowes called Clay & Co which houses 6 individual Artists Studios and a main gallery area.

Come check out her display at the Phillip Island Information Centre open every day for the month of January.

Opening this year has been a lifelong dream, it has come at a cost of not being as present here, so I’m grateful that you’ve stuck around!

So many exciting projects already locked in for next year, hopefully a little more life work balance! but for now a little rest , reflection and sleep, lot’s of sleep!

We will guide you through the process making your very own boobie mug, whilst sipping bubbles & grazing on delicious canapés.
