Piping or no piping… what’s the difference? 🤔

It’s one of the questions we’re often asked when designing a custom cushion — and really, it comes down to the look you love.

Piping is the small cord of fabric that runs around the edge of your cushion. It gives the cushion a little more definition and creates a structured, tailored finish. You can match it to your cushion fabric or choose a contrasting colour to make it a feature.

No piping gives you a cleaner, simpler look. The seams are still beautifully finished, but without that extra detail around the edge. It can feel a little more relaxed and contemporary.

Neither is better — they simply create a different look.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This is why the right cushion can make all the difference.

Simone from Pelican Point, WA had just finished renovating her backyard, but there was one final piece needed to bring the whole space together — a custom daybed cushion.

Proof that a small outdoor nook can still make a BIG statement. 🖤🤍

Those bold black and white striped walls instantly caught our eye — such a simple idea, but they completely transform this little space.

We also love how all that contrast has been softened with natural rattan, lush greenery and crisp white cushions. And then those striped scatter cushions quietly tie everything back to the walls. 👌

It’s a great reminder that outdoor spaces don’t have to be huge to have personality. Sometimes a bold wall, beautiful cushions and a few natural textures are all you need to create a little corner you’ll actually want to use.
