In our 6th year of growing blooms here Carlie and Matt - 🌸 Flower Farm 🌸 Northern NSW we decided to get our soil analysed!! Now those of you who know us well know that our motto is we grow soil so that the flowers can bloom!! Many farmers, neighbours and family have quietly and not so quietly shaken their heads at our approach!! Mr Caldera has spent 1000’s of hours researching, thinking and then acting always focused on growing our soil first!!

Well today we got our soil health report card and stay tuned for the video from Mr Caldera (after he returns from an overnight trip to take our twinnies to race down South!) as to how we went!

A gentle hint it all comes back to the health of your soil and Mr Caldera has a cute bounce in his step 😉

We have learnt so much about growing Australian and South African natives in our sub tropical environment! As always it comes down to soil for us and Mr Caldera has planned these beds out so well. They were prepped in the heat of Summer and allowed to rest and the results are magnificent!

We then drill our holes and amend again with our own native soil mix! Very thankful to Harley and his team for supporting us through our endless questions and trusting us with some exciting varieties for the farm!!

Sunshine and flowers.. after what has been weeks of cloud cover and rain it’s a truly beautiful feeling to be back outside (dry) and soaking in the blooms, the w**ds 🤣 and the warmth of sun on my skin!!
