Hi all, hope you are having a peaceful weekend. Yes, I have been playing with fabric and some sewing and I'll talk about that again in the next few days. For now, I wanted to show you this book I've just finished, a darker and quirky retelling of Snow White. Absolutely satisfying and I loved the main character. It's definitely worth your time.

Hi everyone, a change of plan when I realised the original idea wasn't going to fly. So it's now the underlay for 'Disruption' - see if this idea works! A bit of practising on a new (for me) technique also required.

and I thought I'd share a small TdF quilt I made last year. The background is largely made up of scraps and left over ends of blocks from another quilt, ironically called A Stroll in Paris, from GEDesigns.

Happy Tuesday, everyone, my favourite day of the week. Two books, both quite short, which brought me unexpected reading joy. Phantom Days, looking at books from a different angle, really good, and Nine Goblins, funny and kind. T J Kingfisher also wrote Nettle and Blood, an amazing book. Another book I've enjoyed recently is Tilt by Emma Pattee, no picture, sorry. Again, a fairly short book, a debut for this author but well worth a read.

Hi everyone, hope you've had a good weekend. I'm definitely outside NAIDOC week now but still working on our book and reading theme with our beautiful Aboriginal fabrics. We have some great book covers and slips to protect your favourite books with matching bookmarks. All of these can be customised by fabric choice and size.

Made it back to today!
Happy Tuesday, everyone, and it's NAIDOC week! NAIDOC week is a lot of things to a lot of people. For us, it is also a chance to show you our beautiful fabric designed by Aboriginal artists giving us both the stories of our First Nations people and the colours and form of our beautiful land. Because I love reading, I'm also linking it to another favourite organisation, the Aboriginal Literacy Foundation with book themed pieces (and the book I'm currently reading). Today, we have book bags in the drawstring backpack style that's popular at the moment. These will be online shortly!

Almost back, people! From yesterday.
Hi everyone, hoping you have chance to just breathe for a few hours today! The spotty quilt is done with a few great suggestions from my daughter, including the little green trim. Some unpicking and reworking but the result is much better. This quilt with other handmade pieces will be up on the website this week - yes, too much time daydreaming over some good books lately but I'll get on with it! Also, some f8ungi, just because I've seen some amazing mushrooms lately and I liked this one!

Reclaiming my posts, one at a time from my (ongoing) spotty and dotty adventures!
Happy Tuesday, everyone, on a cold but lovely rainy day here. (I do like a rainy day.) I got a little carried away using up the scraps from my spotty quilt so I now have a little cot quilt to put together! The squares, either 4 or 9 patch, are random as I used the scraps as per their size. It's going to take a little fiddling and some background fabric (also scrap from the spotty quilt) to join them but, hey, it's all good fun!
As a sidenote, wasn't too sure when I started this book but I ended up enjoying it a lot. Worth a read
!

Hi everyone, testing my page with a slightly older post which posted to my private page instead of Misty Threads.
So, a good week to you all! Just playing with some small scraps from the spotty fabrics - not earth-shattering but good fun. And some awesome fungi seen on our daily dog walk - mushrooms are amazing!

Hello lovelies, hope your week is going well. Some dotty fabric, not polka dots but cute all the same and beautifully usable! Very nice feel to this fabric also. And a spotty, dotty quilt just for fun with several spots and dots combined with some sweet May Gibbs style Australiana fabric. It's still a top only, quilting to follow. The fabrics are available online and the quilt will be available once completed. Link to the website is in my profile. Take care all.
